EPISODE 06 "Picture of Innocence" Richard Holthouse Andrew Payne 3 June 2007 November–December 2006 7.31 The story has intrigue, most of it in the first half, and creepy altones with an elderly photographer making pornographic pictures of a young woman. There is quirky humor in the episode, which is always welcome. The murderer's identity (Marissa) and the motives for the murders ( a lesbian affair) were surprising, and yes, the last fiteen minutes are violent and sombre indeed. The denouement is very good but also sad, speaking to the loneliness and isolation people sometimes feel, and how people can be deceived because of their vulnerability.

John Nettles and Jason Hughes are both superb, individually and together, and the supporting cast are without complaint. The bisexual theme arose towards the end of the episode, with Laura being the one who drew affections from both sides. AC/DC.Swimming at the Ritz | Yvonne Arnaud Theatre". Archived from the original on 26 September 2011 . Retrieved 12 June 2014. Decade-Themed Party: The village of Morton Fendle is obsessed with the now disused WWII airfield based there. They hold a 1940s-themed dance that the Barnabys and Jones attend. Laura does seem to be quite charismatic, though -- the bar owner is sure she's stealing from the cash register, but he hasn't fired her. Felicity Jane Dean (born 24 January 1959) is a British actress, who is critically acclaimed for her extensive work in film and on stage, including works with, The Royal Shakespeare Company, Al Pacino, HBO, Sir Jonathan Miller and Joseph Losey. [1] Early life [ edit ]

On a business trip to China, Alan King suddenly dies. The family firm, King's Crystal, is in financial uncertainty, with plans to close its factory in Midsomer Magna. Six months later Alan's widow Hilary and his brother Charles are married, much to the chagrin of Alan's son Ian. With family feuds and factory workers angered by the loss of their jobs, motives abound when Peter Baxter, the firm's accountant, is found dead, stabbed with a Masonic poniard, and Ian is fatally poisoned. Barnaby and Jones suspect a disgruntled employee is guilty. With so many things to investigate, they will need to explore both the Freemasons and the family, and find that the play of Hamlet may hold the key to the case.

Simon Bright is found dead in a vintage car at a disused airfield in Cooper's Cross. The previous evening, he had been on a romantic date with his girlfriend Laura Sharp, who is nowhere to be found. Barnaby and Jones, newly promoted to DS, need to work out whether it was a suicide pact gone wrong, or murder, and to find Laura. Their investigation reveals that the couple had met at Elaine Trim's dancing classes in Morton Fendle. The two attend a 1940s-style dance night at the village hall, before another man is found stabbed and more secrets come to light. Not one of the best 'Midsomer Murders' episodes, but at the same time not among the worst. For a season opener though, "Dance with the Dead" was a little disappointing (especially when many of the earlier seasons had fantastic season openers). Felicity Dean, who played the niece of Rosemary, is absolutely stunning! Why isn't she a major star? She is beautiful.

After the young man's murder, there is another one, that of the jogger's randy husband. There is also an attempted murder. There is a fierce rivalry between traditional and digital photographers in the village of Luxton Deeping. When the photographic society's committee decides not to accept digital images at the annual photographic exhibition, matters take an ugly turn and there is a confrontation. The following day, photographer Lionel Bell is found murdered in woodland, strangled with the cord of his light meter. As the detectives begin to investigate, evidence seems to implicate Barnaby in the murder and he is taken off the case. He is replaced by DI Martin Spellman, a colleague disliked by Tom, who appears more interested in his upcoming wedding than the case. When another photographer is murdered, Barnaby continues his investigation unofficially to discover who is framing him and bring the guilty party to justice.

Dance with the Dead is the first episode of the tenth series of Midsomer Murders and was originally aired on 12th November 2006. As usual the production values are top notch but that bloody period World War II music that kept playing really irritated me. There are two murders here, neither are that graphic or memorable although a bit of blood is seen. The post office used for this episode was the same one used in Things That Go Bump in the Night (2004) from season eight & the other locations are just as pretty as ever to preserve the very individual look of the show. The acting is good from both regulars & guests. The production values are great as usual. The music fits the scenery and is always spot on. The direction is solid and so is the acting. John Nettles and Jason Hughes are wonderful together. The guest stars are passable too. I liked Nicola Redmond and Georgine Anderson the most. DCI Tom Barnaby and DS Ben Jones investigate the death of Simon Bright who is found dead inside an old World War II vintage Humber car parked at an abandoned airfield. From all appearances, the death appears to be a suicide, but the pathologist determines that the man suffered a severe blow to the head and may in fact have been unconscious when he died of carbon monoxide poisoning. Simon Bright's girlfriend, Laura Sharp, is nowhere to be found, but the death of the ageing village Lothario and the attempted murder of another of her friends narrows the list of possible murderers somewhat. Barnaby is convinced that one of Laura's ex-lovers is responsible but, given her rather active life, the question becomes which one?

The World War 2 nostalgia is a little distracting and the mystery girl was not quite developed enough for my liking to make me care for her, some of what is said about her is on the slightly strained side. EPISODE 08 "Death in a Chocolate Box" Richard Holthouse Tony Etchells 11 May 2008 February–March 2007 6.88 Norman, Neil (2 March 2018). "A Princess Undone review: Princess Margaret to the letter". Express.co.uk . Retrieved 9 December 2021. Dance with the Dead's" biggest problem is the pacing, which was problematic enough to detract more than one star from the rating. The pacing is rather rambling and some of the middle third does badly drag due to padding that doesn't add as much as it thought it did, with the overlong and pretty dull dance night scene being the biggest offender. That scene was also rather pointless and seemed only to be there to pad out the running time.In 2002 she also received high critical acclaim for her roles in The Coast of Utopia directed by Trevor Nunn again at the National Theatre. 2003 saw her again under the direction of Barry Kyle, this time at Shakespeare's Globe as Regan in King Lear. Charles Spencer of The Daily Telegraph noted that "Felicity Dean doesn't confine herself merely to capturing Regan's spite. She brings a great blast of sexuality to the stage, presenting a woman who is clearly turned on by evil. The effect is both thrilling and profoundly discomforting" [7] [8] Tony Kirby zve Carol Prenticeovou na drink, ale ona nemá zájem a rázně mu řekne, ať si jde se svou ženou. Frances Kirbyová zatím při běhání objeví v hangáru bývalého letiště staré auto s hadicí od výfuku zastrčenou dovnitř vozu. V autě je mrtvý mladík Simon Bright. Na sedačce je šampaňské se dvěma skleničkami a květiny. Policisté se dovtípí, že tam nebyl sám, a hledají dívku, která by mohla být přiotrávená, žádná ale není nikde hospitalizovaná... I do agree that some characters are underdeveloped here. Especially Laura Sharp, the woman, who goes missing. I was supposed to care for Laura at times and I really didn't, because she was such an under-cooked character.
