About this deal

It should come as no surprise that the quality of the images that the Galaxy S21 Ultra is capable of capturing are nothing short of exceptional. As with other high-megapixel-count flagships, the S21 Ultra doesn’t capture 108MP images by default – although this can be enabled in the settings – instead taking 12MP pictures in the auto mode. Keep in mind that there’s no microSD card slot for expandable storage, so if you’re keen on taking lots of 4K 60fps or 8K 24fps video, you may want to look into the pricier 256GB or 512GB storage sizes – and the latter of those sizes also bumps up the RAM to 16GB. Overall, though, the S21 Ultra lags slightly behind the Snapdragon 888 (tested in the Xiaomi Mi 11) and is no match for the as-yet-unbeatable processing speeds of the iPhone 12 Pro Max. EE's network was also at the top of the list when it came to the availability of its 4G signal, with customers able to access it 78.5% of the time. Customers with Three had the poorest access to a 4G signal - they were able to access it just 57.1% of the time – that's only just more than half the time, 24/7! As some of you may already know, Samsung uses two different chips in their Galaxy S phones depending on the market and the UK is getting the other new and improved chip Exynos 2100 instead of the coveted Snapdragon 888. They are both designed by Samsung, so there isn't a compromise here. The Exynos chip is significantly improved and offers pretty much the same specs as the Snapdragon 888, so the performance should be highly satisfying for the S21 users. But only time will tell if there is any noticeable difference between them or not. Massively Improved Cameras and Decent Battery

During a virtual press conference on Tuesday, Samsung announced its new Exynos processor for its Galaxy S21 series. The new SoC is a big step up from the company's previous-generation S series processors. It has improved CPU and GPU performance, as well as features an integrated 5G modem. Bokeh Mode, Face Detection, HDR, AI Features, Smile Detection, Night Mode, Panorama, Portrait Mode, Automatic Mode, Burst Mode, Stereo Recording, Scene Detection, Slow Motion, Time Lapse The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra's camera has a new sensor. It's similar to the sensor on the S20 Ultra, but the S21 Ultra has slightly better results at the ends of the zoom range.

The Galaxy S21 Ultra is as good as it looks

The S21 Ultra is able to record 4K videos at 60 frames per second. It can also shoot 12-bit raw files. This means that the camera can edit the fine details of an image before sending it to your computer. The long-awaited verdict to having both? Meh – it’s the best of both worlds, sure, but you won’t see much of a difference between 1080p and Quad HD on a display of this size, and Quad HD will drain your battery faster.

First, you'll want to make sure that you're using the right charger. There are many different options, but most should work with Samsung devices. For example, the Aukey AirCore Wireless Charger is a good choice if you're looking for a wireless charger that supports wireless earbuds. We noticed that the Galaxy S21 Ultra camera offers improved dynamic range in outdoor photos (see photos with a bright sky and darker buildings) over its predecessors, and Samsung now offers 12-bit raw files for greater flexibility when editing. The iPhone 12 Pro series still wins out for many non-zoomed photos, especially indoor and nighttime shots, but Samsung and its more finely tuned night mode (it doesn’t simply bump up the exposure) help close the gap. Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra has a stereo speaker setup that delivers clear and clean sound. It is also equipped with Dolby Atmos certified speakers. The built-in speakers are tuned by AKG. Those who prefer to use headphones will need to use a pair of headphones that support a DAC. The Galaxy S21 Ultra has the biggest screen of the three new S21 phones, stretching out across 6.8in. It’s one of Samsung’s “Dynamic AMOLED 2x” panels and it now supports 120Hz at the native WQHD+ resolution (1,440 x 3,200) of the panel.

Specification

Compared to the S20 Ultra, the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra has a few key improvements. First off, let's start with the camera. However, wireless charging isn't quite as fast as a wired charger, so you may want to consider getting a wired charger if you want to get the most out of your wireless device. With its vivid 6.8” AMOLED display and a quadruple camera setup, the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G is perhaps one of the best smartphones for anyone who wants to explore photography. Even the front camera is a whopping 40MP, meaning you’ll be able to take amazing selfies that capture all of your best features. The Galaxy S21 Ultra has the same Exynos 2100 chipset (it’s the Snapdragon 888 in the US) as the rest of the lineup. Unlike the other phones, however, you also get the option to upgrade from 12GB of RAM to a whopping 16GB, along with a choice of either 128GB, 256GB or 512GB of non-expandable storage. In my experience, 16GB of RAM is pretty much overkill for any smartphone – my MacBook Pro “only” has 8GB of RAM. This is still Samsung’s best screen, but for many other reasons. We found the 6.8-inch body to be easier to grasp than the 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max, and that’s in large part thanks to the curved display and overall narrowness of Samsung's device. The curved edges are subtle on the S21 Ultra, and not quite as pronounced as on past Samsung devices, and that means fewer errant presses.

Samsung's Ultra series superphones are meant for the consumers that want the absolute best of the best in their phones and the S21 is providing just that kind of an exceptional experience with top-tier features and specs in all relevant areas imaginable. With an attractive new design, powerful the Exynos 2100 chip and a larger display, the S21 will not disappoint the power users. On top of all that, the price has been reduced too. Compared to the last year's S20 Ultra's launch price, the Ultra is more affordable to find its place in this troublesome global economy. Super-Smooth and Colour-Rich Display This is bad news for consumers who are looking to make the switch from iPhone to Samsung, since the Galaxy S21 Ultra charges via USB-C and thus doesn’t support Apple’s Lightning cable. Perhaps a more consumer-friendly tactic would be to provide a choice as to whether or not the charger was included, instead of removing it entirely. Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra review: Display Camera improvements include enhanced noise reduction in low-light conditions, as well as the ability to slow down multiple instances in a single slow-mo video. You can also grab a still image directly from 8K footage, and add virtual lighting in portrait pictures. It features a 6.8 inches Dynamic AMOLED 2X display that has a 1440 x 3200 pixels resolution. The rear camera of the smartphone consists of a penta-camera that consists of 108 MP (2nd gen) (wide) + 10 MP (periscope telephoto) 10x optical zoom + 10 MP (telephoto) 3x optical zoom + 12 MP (ultrawide). That said, while that's the list price, many stores are now selling the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra for less. You can expect the price to continue dropping over time. The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra also has a telephoto lens. This 10-megapixel camera has 3x optical zoom. This is a sensible option for taking pictures of things that are far away, such as a sports event. Let's be blunt. This phone is capable of handling any type of app or game. Its screen has an adaptive refresh rate that provides great performance without draining the battery. The phone's design is also very stylish, making it a great choice for power users. Going all the way from the ultra-wide camera at 0.6x to the digitally zoomed-in 30x with usable photos each step of the way is how Samsung stands apart from Apple and its cameras on the iPhone 12 Pro Max (capped at 2.5x optical / 12x digital), and Google’s Pixel 5 (no telephoto). No one (except Huawei) is doing zoom on a smartphone like this in 2021, and your Apple phone-owning friends will have telephoto envy. This is also the first Samsung phone to launch without a charger in the box. Following in Apple’s footsteps, Samsung says the charger’s removal is an effort to reduce the environmental impact of the phone, but it also says that it “removes any pressure that consumers may feel towards continually receiving unnecessary charger accessories with new phones”. Powered by a massive 5,000mAh battery, the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra is a powerful device that can last for days. However, the battery performance of the device will vary depending on how you use it, of course.
