Benches are typically made 30cm shorter than table lengths to allow them to slide underneath for space saving. If you wish to seat people at the table ends, please request this to allow the bases to be set further in. Benches will not then slide fully underneath. Antique Brown – This is very popular on new woods as it produces a light honey brown shade, offering a slightly antique look.

Driftwood- typically a darker version of our Light Driftwood finish with a mix of natural wood tones and some similarities to a pine-coloured wood.On bare or stripped woods, Sand the surface to a smooth finish in the direction of the grain. Stain the wood if necessary. On open grained woods, you can stain and seal using a Shellac Sealer, but this is optional. Apply the Supreme wax using very fine 0000 wire wool or buffing cloth in the direction of the grain and allow soaking into the wood. Remove any excess and then once dry, buff to the desired sheen level. Several coats may be added to build further sheen and protection. This can be used on all bare interior woods or furniture. Solid Oak Mantle Beams are hand carved, sanded and ready to fit with a colour finish of your choice. Choose a solid oak mantel to finish the contemporary or traditional look of your fireplace. Also available in 7 other shades: Cherry, Light Brown, Forest Brown, Stripped Pine, Antique Brown, Jacobean, and Light. The furniture is typically delivered unassembled to aid with access to properties. Instructions are provided for ease of self-assembly. Screwing bases to the timber tops is typically all that is needed. A suitable power driver/drill will be required. For previously finished woods (especially on antique furniture) I would recommend using a polish reviver first and then finish with Fiddes Mellow Wax Furniture Polish.

Light– A clear wax that maintains the existing, natural colour of the wood without changing the colour too much. This is ideal if you want to show the grain without darkening the wood.The photos are intended to serve as a guide. As reclaimed and rustic wood is a natural material which varies by batch, the appearance of the wood and exact colour may vary from the photos shown. Lighting in the photos can also vary. Sand in stages, starting with a medium sandpaper through to a medium/fine grade, following the direction of the grain. Apply the product with even pressure using a cotton cloth, brush or sponge, again following the grain. Lightly wipe with a clean cloth to remove excess polish. Allow to dry and buff to your desired level of sheen with a soft cloth. Always do a test area before starting any project to assess product suitability and final finish. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions on the tin at all times. The different colour options are shown below.For best results, we recommend cleaning the surface first using Priory Polish Reviver using very fine wire wool. This will remove the dirt, grease ready for treatment of the wax finish. This will also give you the best sheen and add to the depth of the colour and finish. Take a clean cotton cloth, sponge or brush and apply in the direction of the wood grain where possible. To obtain a uniform colour, always wipe evenly, blending the Supreme Wax over the whole surface area by exerting a small degree of pressure when applying by hand. Take care to lightly remove any excess Supreme Wax immediately with a separate, clean absorbent cloth, again following the direction of the grain pattern. Fiddes Supreme Wax is almost odour free, applies easily and once polished to the desired sheen level, gives a depth of finish that revives and protects any original shiny surface while preserving the patina. The Clear / Light variant is suitable for use as a final finish after using Fiddes Liming Wax.
