About this deal

This is a great Bible option for kids, even elementary-aged and middle-grade kids. The text is written for kids, which helps make it understandable, digestible, and applicable for kids. Toddlers aren’t exactly well known for their ability to handle delicate objects, amiright? #4 Engaging and Toddler Approved!

In 2015 the world was horrified at the photograph of a drowned three-year-old child who perished in an attempt by his father to reach Europe via a dangerous sea crossing. We feel instinctively that children above all should have the chance of life and that the death of a child is a particular violation of the way life is supposed to work out. Yet despite all our sophistication, development and technology, we still live in a world where children continue to die needlessly every day through disease, violence, war, poverty or exploitation. One of my boys absolutely loved The Adventure Bible. He had previously resisted getting into a regular Bible-reading habit, but when we gave him his Adventure Bible, I often found him curled up in bed reading more. What a joy it was to see him wanting to read his Bible and sneaking more and more time reading! But I’d like to stress that reading the REAL Bible with your children is also very important. Reading these fun little Bible story collections should not be a replacement to reading God’s Word straight from the Bible to your children. Take time to introduce them to the “big family Bible”, from the moment they are born and beyond. This toddler Bible is written in more of a narrative form (unlike the poetry and actions that characterized the baby bibles). Your child will be able to recall some details from these stories and will begin to get a sense for the lessons each toddler Bible story teaches us.That's why I've created a collection of fun and educational activities inspired by stories and teachings from the Bible and it's also why I enlisted the help of my sister-in-law, Sharla to help share her insights. She is a woman of confident and compassionate faith -- a trait I admire. We continue to revisit our favorite Bible storybooks even as the kids grow (and especially because we have multiple ages in our family), but we transition the kids into a full-text Bible of their own around 6 years old. Sometime between six and eight years old also tends to be the time we begin helping the kids develop their own quiet time, so having their own Bible isn’t only important but exciting too. The Jesus Storybook Bible— For ages 5+ However, my current toddler totally latched onto it being “his” Bible and he loves it. And, I’ve learned to appreciate it too. It’s a classic for a reason and it does have some really good things going for it. My top two are that the stories are kept short and simple and I love that it has SO MANY stories to choose from that other toddler Bibles skip.

Two of my kids were early readers, and two began reading independently a little later. Consider your child’s reading level when choosing a Bible for your kids to read independently. If the reading part is a challenge, it is more likely they will resist reading the Bible. We want to help make their Bible time as accessible and inviting as possible. The entire Baby Bible series are really great for toddlers. There are about 7 books in the series as and I will link to all of them below. Ministry-To-Children.com helps you tell kids about Jesus by providing age-appropriate Bible study material and Sunday School curriculum – all 100% free online. This is another word for word Scripture Bible (not a story book) in the Holman Christian Standard translation, and it’s another favorite in our home.

Here’s where the rubber meets the road! Does your selected toddler Bible actually engage said toddler?

We believe that children and parents benefit from a strong Christian education program in the church. Every kids church ministry deserves the very best resources for teaching God’s Word, even when they don’t have the financial resources. And probably my favorite unique thing about this one is that each story has a takeaway message at the end, like “God created you too” and “God takes care of you and your family”. These are essential truths about God that need to be instilled into young children’s minds and so I love the idea of repeating these truths to your toddler each time you read this one.[sc name=”clearfix”] Toddler Bibles help to instill God’s Word and truths to your little ones My husband and I are amazed with how much the girls retain from every Bible lesson. They can recite Bible verses and re-tellBible stories in their account, and be pretty accurate. They have their favorite Bible stories and characters and most important, they have a desire to learn more about God every day. It brings me great joy when they askif we can read a Bible story together. This also means that when we look at our children and marvel at how they grow, change and develop, we are not just seeing physical change, but something deeply spiritual, a response to a divine vocation, God at work and in relationship. So children can never be less important than anyoneelse and they can never be less important within the Church. Similarly, we cannot treat the unborn child as disposable or less than human, without cutting across the divine love and vocation that is uniquely and eternally focussed upon him or her.We all know that children can blurt out awkward truths at the wrong moment. We are also often guilty of trying to reinterpret and reframe their faith when they talk about God in ways that don’t ‘fit’ with what we like to hear. Yet God’s Spirit emerges in the lives of children in all kinds of ways and we need to discern it.
