About this deal

This volume brings the conflict between young Lemony and his associates and the masked menace Hangfire to a head. We finally learn the connection between the mysterious, apparently random occurrences in Stain'd-by-the-Sea that have dogged and puzzled our hero for the first three books. This train ride has a lot of twists , and a bit of nautical fantasy breaks through at the end. This is a fantastic series! The best of the best, I have never read a book like this: it is very well-written, with surprising characters and plots--this noir mystery series is by far the best series I will probably ever read. On January 25, 2012, Lisa Brown, Daniel Handler's wife, published a tweet with a link to LSATWQ.com, a signup for information about the new series. [5] [ additional sources needed] Literal-Minded: Pip and Squeak's taxi service can be paid in tips, like "you should really read The Wind in the Willows." Parental Favoritism: Sharon Haines. is so desperate to get her daughter out of Hangfire's grasp that she's willing to sell out her son to him.

The first batch of the books were released with cover art and illustrations by Seth. The first book was released on October 23 2012, and the second on October 15 2013. A book set inbetween the second and third stories, File Under: 13 Suspicious Incidents, was dropped on April 1 2014 as a reference to April Fools' Day, while the third book dropped on September 30 of the same year, and the final book was published on September 29 2015. The second message, sent on 7 March 2012, included the second picture below with the headline Who is Ellington Feint? It reads, "I saw her smile, shadowy in the moonlight. It was a smile that might have meant anything." In 2018, an alternate cover of Who Could That Be at This Hour? was released, featuring a more realistic style of illustration, though the inside of the book remained the same. The blurb on the book included a reference to Netflix, which was at the time releasing a series based on A Series of Unfortunate Events, leading some to believe that the new cover release may be predating a prequel adaptation; no such plans have been confirmed, however, and neither have any subsequent books been released with new appearances. Questioning Title?: Each of the books, named after a wrong question Lemony asked at some point in the story.

Every time Lemony as the narrator mentions he should have done something different in a scene, that's a good sign that at the moment something suspicious is going on. Hangfire does this to the fake Mrs. Sallis, though Lemony and Moxie save her. She is still loyal to him afterward, because he keeps threatening her family.

The first book, Who Could That Be at This Hour?, was released on October 23, 2012. [4] The second book, When Did You See Her Last?, was released on October 15, 2013. The third book, Shouldn't You Be in School?, was released on September 30, 2014. [5] The fourth and final book, Why Is This Night Different From All Other Nights?, was released on September 29, 2015. A companion novel, File Under: 13 Suspicious Incidents, was released on April 1, 2014. [6] Premise [ edit ]

Dude, Where's My Reward?: Rather than thank them for saving her life, Sally Murphy yells at Lemony and Moxie for asking about who tried to drown her.

The final book's title, "Why Is This Night Different from All Other Nights?", is a direct reference to The Four Questions told during Passover. Dashiell Qwerty is the sub-librarian of the Stain'd-by-the-Sea public library. He wears a leather coat and has a wild haircut that makes the Mitchums distrust him. The Officers Mitchum, married squabblers. It's too early to make assumptions, but they are certainly among my favorite literary marriages. The Bellerophone Brothers; Pip and Squeak, taxi drivers in Stain'd by the Sea, always looking for a literary tip.Screw This, I'm Out of Here!: Lemony quits V.F.D. (although not permanently if the A Series of Unfortunate Events proper is anything to go by) in Why is This Night Different from All Other Nights?. Unfortunately Dashiel Qwerty is murdered, and LS tries to work out who did it. It turns out it was Stew Mitchem. Interestingly, her first physical appearance in each book of All the Wrong Questions occurs in each novel's Chapter Seven, about the halfway point. The series runs alongside the story of Lemony's sister Kit as she completes a similar mission for V.F.D. Lemony's main mission is to protect a statue called the Bombinating Beast from various people who desire it, including Hangfire.
