Cross ink converters are a bespoke size and cannot be used in any fountain pen manufactured by another brand. The Cross mini ballpoint pen refill is a standard D1 refill that can be used in any brand of pens that take a D1 refill. To fit the Cross push-in style fountain pen converter, unscrew the barrel of the pen and, as the name suggests, push the converter firmly into the front-end section that contains the nib. These are not interchangeable, as one pushes into the front-end section of the pen and the other screws into a threaded section of the front end of the pen. Cross Selectip refills will also fit older Sheaffer pens that used to use the same refill known as the Sheaffer C Style refill.
