About this deal

Imperial Guard Kill Team (partially replaced by the Veteran Guardsmen Kill Team in the Octarius book) Here’s Dave Sanders, who heads up the Kill Team rules project, on what you can expect from the game: There are 26 heads included in the kit, 10 of which are fully enclosed, and the rest a combination of helmeted and helmetless, both male and female. My favorite is the one I used on my sergeant (and I expect many other people will do the same) with the gas mask hanging off the helmet.

What’s better than having your own personal objectives to compete for? Keeping them secret from your opponent and revealing your victory with a dramatic flourish, that’s what. 8. Jump Out at Orks and Shout Boo

The Terrain

By comparison, the original Starter Set – which is priced exactly the same – comes with the following: The full lineup is Altar of Maws by Peter Fehervari, A Forbidden Mea l by Carrie Harris, The Dust That Remains by J H Archer, The Whispering Blade by Matthew Harffy, and Stealing Orpheo n by Richard Ford. It only takes about an hour to play a game of Kill Team, so you can squeeze in an epic special operations mission before the lunch whistle blows. 20. It’s Easy to Add New Kill Teams Kill Team 2nd Edition’s datacards show that the new game’s units(individually called Operators) will have at least three key stats they didn’t have before: The rules for this kill team can be found in the Shadowvaults book. Read our guide for these Imperial elites here. Necron Hierotek Circle

The rules for this kill team can be found in the Ashes of Faith book or in the Kill Team Annual 2023. You can read our guide for these mutated monstrosities here. Hearthkyn Salvager The rules for this team can be found in the Moroch book. You can read our guide for these traitorous guardsmen here. Elucidian Starstriders Spec Ops narrative campaigns let you level up your operatives , award them brand new skills , and even accessorise your dream hangout. 18. In-Depth Video Tutorials The Legiones Astartes can now add squadrons of plastic Vindicator Siege Tanks to their armies – perfect timing for a supplement all about a planet-wide siege. Armed with your choice of wall-shattering demolisher cannon or a multi-barrelled magna laser destroyer, you can fine tune this squad tank to take out fortifications or warmachines.* Lord-castellan Evander Garrius But the proof is in the pudding, so in keeping with the theme set in my Command Edition review, it was time for Roburte Guillethwaite’s Space Marines to once again face off against the Necrons of the Lizzekh Dynasty.

Citadel Miniatures: Two full kill teams of Veteran Guardsmen and Ork Kommandos form the heart of war zone Octarius, each featuring a wide array of customisation and alternate assembly options. Extra detail parts allow for deep personalisation of your kill team, with many models able to be assembled as multiple different kinds of operative. Each team also comes with a full transfer sheet with over 400 markings and emblems for customising your models. Although the Alpha Legion primarily operate with subterfuge, sometimes the brutal hammerblow of a Contemptor is exactly the right tool for the situation – or a terrifying distraction from your deeper goals. GW says it’s a system designed to “give true close combat specialists a real moment to shine”. We’ll be watching this portion very closely. Kill Team, as a skirmish-based variant for Warhammer 40k, has now gone through a total of fouriterations over the years– the third of which was when Games Workshop released it as an official, standalone game , complete with a distinct ruleset, bright orange branding, and starter sets composed of existing models and terrain. These resin heads and torsos are designed to be used with the Contemptor Dreadnought kit, adding a splash of Legion flavour to these fearsome machines. Ultramarines Contemptor Torso

Closing on the objective at the bottom of the map, the Heavy Intercessor Gunner and his comrade moved to intercept two Flayed Ones. First steps. This is one of those boxes that’s just as much about its value as it is about its utility in the game. That said, having the extra special weapons is perfect for 40k players, making these great Scion replacements that look much better with Cadian troops (especially the newly announced resculpts). The torsos are all built with nearly flat shoulders, just a slight vertical line/seam to help align arms, so you can mostly put any arm set on any body. The only concern is whether hoses clip the body, which a few lasgun arm and body combinations will, but plasma/melta/grenade won’t have that problem. You can easily build multiple squads without ending up with duplicate poses.

The rules for this kill team can be found in the Gallowfall book or in Kill Team Annual 2023. You can read our guide for these horned hooligans here. Hand of the Archon The list of stats for each operator is rounded out with some that will be more familiar to existing 40k or Kill Team players: One unanswered question, currently, is whether an operator can take the same action more than once in an activation – to perform a double-move, or fight twice, for example.

The latter was largely due to fan frustration at a much-anticipated, popular 40k unit (the Space Marines’ Heavy Intercessors) being, initially, only available through the Pariah Nexus box. Instead, GW has given Kill Team the honour of fanfaring in War Zone Octarius, the “next major narrative supplement for Warhammer 40,000”.At the end of round 5, with the Space Marines almost at full strength and the Necrons down to their final figure and final wound, it was all over for the Necrons. Victory Points were tallied up, and the game ended. I mean, all of this rubbish looks as if it could’ve ben made in an ice cube tray. It’s boring. It’s uninspiring. There’s way too much of it. No one wants to paint all this junk. Your Kill Team will also nowbe subdividedinto one or more Fire Teams, depending on your faction – a mechanic intended to add structure, and differentiate between elite Kill Teams like Space Marines (who can only take one small Fire Team) and squishier factions like Imperial Guard, who (as you can see in the graphic above) can field two, with more operators in each.
