He was given a coat and a pair of sunglasses by Ottoline's parents. Mr Munroe lived with Ottoline since she was a baby and they were best friends ever since. Ottoline Brown is the daughter of very famous scientists, Professor and Professor Brown. Her parents travel all over the world and always get her spectacular and exotic gifts, like the five spouted teapot. Although Ottoline lives all by herself in a luxurious apartment, she is never alone, there is Mr. Munroe a hairy bog creature from Norway, then there are all those Services which look after her, the food people, the people who make her bed, the service that shines the doorknobs. Ottoline is surrounded by people and never alone but at times she feels lonely and that is when she needs to brush Mr. Munroe's silky hair till it shines. Mr Munroe hates it, but he loves Ottoline. It's a short, fun story with neat little references to the Beatles for the adults. Ottoline lives in an apartment in the Pepperpot Building. Her parents are explorers and rarely home, communicating with Ottoline by post card. (remember them?). Her constant companion is Mr. Munroe, a friendly troll. Their parents found Mr. Munroe during one of their trips to Norway.Despite being the last in the series, the reader doesn’t need to have read the previous books as it makes sense on its own. Ottoline at Sea appeals to both boys and girls although the main character is a female. The author appears to make historical references to famous adventurers. Thor Thorrensen, who is a famous explorer in the book, resembles the Norwegian adventurer Thor Heyerdahl as they both travel by a Polynesian raft. The female aviator, Minty Woodvine, could be an allusion to Emilia Earhart. These references would likely to be lost on the young audience. Thus begins her fun journey, accompanied by the Canadian bear who spends the winter sorting clothes in the basement laundry room.

The party was also great fun, good job Ottoline, that was really sweet of you and you friends to do. Hopefully those two will be very happy. But nothing really happens with it, the only thing that happens is that they are both amazed, and keep saying the same sentence. Walking home, Ottoline and Mr. Munroe stop at 4th Street books. There they meet another girl who looks remarkably akin to Ottoline. The girl, named Myrrh Treesister, has a hairy friend named Miss Macintosh who is the spitting image of Mr. Munroe. Ottoline decides to invite Myrrh to a dinner party that she is hosting next evening.Ottoline lives in a stylish apartment in Big City with a small hairy creature called Mr Munroe. Together they look after the Brown family’s eclectic collections – and dabble in a spot of detective work.
