About this deal

Warfare is an inescapable part of the Star Wars universe, from the Rebel Alliance’s defeat in the Battle of Hoth to a few elite Rebel strike teams taking on a legion of stormtroopers on the Forest Moon of Endor. You can seize your chance to get your boots on the ground and lead your troops to victory with Star Wars Legion, a miniatures game of thrilling infantry battles in the Star Wars universe! Star Wars Legion invites you to enter the ground battles of the Galactic Civil War as the commander of a unique army of miniatures filled with troopers, powerful ground or repulsor vehicles, and iconic characters like Darth Vader or Luke Skywalker. While innovative mechanics for command and control simulate the fog of war and the chaos of battle, the game’s unpainted, easily assembled minis give you a canvas to create the Star Wars army you’ve always wanted to lead into battle—whether you fight for the monolithic, oppressive Galactic Empire or the ragtag Rebel Alliance. So the sliding scale steps in to help out with this issue. It works by squeezing the scale of objects the larger they are. For example, small objects and vehicles that are either nearby miniatures or used by them will stay at the correct scale of 1:48. This makes them 100% scale as it is true to scale compared to the minis. This expansion deepens your immersion in the Star Wars galaxy with a beautifully sculpted downed AT-ST miniature that joins the fabric of the battlefield itself, providing valuable cover for your troops no matter what planet they find themselves on. Additionally, six new battle cards invite you to make your crashed AT-ST a focal point of a two part scenario, bringing even more variety to your games of Star Wars: Legion. The only criticism I would have with the army building at the moment, is that there currently isn’t enough choice with the amount and variety of units that can be put into an 800 point army. This will of course be remedied by FFG very soon, with the release of numerous new army option expansions. Rebel Commandos and Snowtroopers are just two of the army choices currently in production, to be brought out soon! Conclusion & Final Thoughts on Star Wars Legion

One cautionary note which we will cover further in defense, which applies particularly to the DW-3 AT-ST: watch out for Luke. If you are close to your opponent, then they are close to you. Luke with Son of Skywalker has a pretty decent chance to take an AT-ST to it’s resilience threshold in one shot. AT-ST Mortar Launcher Movement in Star WarsLegion is fast and organic as you send your troopers marching forward. Every unit has a speed which determines the jointed movement tool that you’ll use to move that unit. You simply align the movement tool with the base of the unit leader and move it to the end of the movement tool. The AT-ST is tough but not invincible. Focus on eliminating Impact weapons and stay away from Luke.In addition, most advertising networks offer you a way to opt out of targeted advertising. If you would like to find out more information, please visit http://www.aboutads.info/choices/or http://www.youronlinechoices.com. Even without the use of its powerful MS-4 Twin Blaster Cannons and other heavy weapons, an AT-ST can still play a pivotal role in the confrontations between the Empire and the Rebellion—especially if it’s a part of the battlefield itself. I included the 88 by itself at the bottom there, just for posterity. You generally don’t want to be splitting fire. In theory you could hand out an extra suppression token; if you are firing at two different targets out of cover and don’t particularly want to murder one of them, there really isn’t a downside. You only have a 9% chance to completely whiff with the three dice, so you have a pretty good shot to get that extra suppression down. Without an aim token, you have a 42% chance to completely whiff. You still get the one suppression token from the mortar’s Suppressive keyword, but it is kind of a bummer to only get one token with a Suppressive weapon.

The 35mm reference is due to the miniatures eye height, which is 35.7mm from the ground. Fun fact! What scale are the official Star Wars Legion model kits?Moving your units into position is vital for claiming victory in Star WarsLegion, and the exact positioning of every miniature is crucial. The position of every unit on the battlefield is open information—what you need to plan for is how your opponent can use those units! Good positioning and the ability to read the battlefield could allow you to catch your opponent in a deadly crossfire or pin an enemy unit between two of your own. The DW-3 Grenade Launcher + MS-4, without Aim, does better against targets in heavy cover than the 88 + MS-4 with Aim. Obviously this gap widens further if you aim with the DW-3. Chewbacca, the loyal Wookiee co-pilot of the Millennium Falcon, plays a pivotal role in the Battle of Endor. During the battle, the Rebel Alliance, along with their Ewok allies, fights against the forces of the Galactic Empire in an attempt to destroy the Death Star's shield generator. The two players then look at how many units they can activate, and each player designates those units on the battlefield that are within range 1-3 of the commander, and that have not already been activated. A token is placed beside the models to designate this.

There is one thing better than the 88 at dealing with cover, though… DW-3 Concussion Grenade Launcher Due to the unique range band, generally you are not going to be able to combine the mortar launcher with any of your other weapons, except the MS-4 at Range 4. Here is what the probability chart looks like for just the Mortar Launcher, with and without an aim token:From the original Publisher's Description: "Fantasy Flight Games is proud to announce Star Wars™: Legion, a new miniatures game of infantry battles that invites you to join iconic heroes and villains, lead your troopers into battle, and battle for the fate of the Star Wars galaxy. With Star Wars: Legion, you can build and paint a unique army of miniatures. You can command your troops in battle and devise masterful tactics. And you can conquer your opponent’s army to bring victory to the light side or the dark side!" Fence cutting blades. You could certainly do a lot worse than 4 reds in melee, if you are desperate. Other AT-ST’s, Saber throw, and Speeder Bikes are all very dangerous to at AT-ST as well. The HH-12 and Fleets/MPL-B are up there, but you don’t really see exhaust weapons very often these days. Star Wars Legion immerses players in the exciting, cinematic ground combat of the Star Wars universe. From the sound of blaster fire echoing across the battlefield to the unmistakable shudder and crunch of an AT-ST walker, appearing from the undergrowth, Legion plunges you into the fierce conflict between the Galactic Empire and the Rebel Alliance. On to the good stuff. Though we will talk about each of the hardpoint upgrades, this article will not cover every possible combination of dice and every situation, though we will hit the most common and interesting ones. Generally each of the hardpoint upgrades is going to be combined with the MS-4, except the mortar which is often fired separately. Offense

Being that Fantasy Flight Games (the company behind Star Wars Legion) won’t tell us the exact scale that they work to. It is very much up to us as fans of Star Wars Legion to work out the correct scale to print our miniatures, landscape and props.Range 4-unlimited. So that is a long range. Unfortunately that is also a big donut. Not the tasty kind either. The I-can’t-shoot-stuff-close kind. Often the mortar will be firing by itself, as this range band does not overlap with any of the AT-ST’s other weapons, except the main gun at Range 4.
