About this deal

Meet all of your waste disposal needs in retro style with the 45L-Square Sensor Bin. Boasting a generous 45 litre capacity, this sensor is the perfect solution to your household waste disposal. Ideal for both single and family households. Featuring advanced infrared technology, the lid sensor activates 5-15cm in front of the bin to allow for hygienic disposal. With a discreet battery compartment, on/off switch and bin liner retaining ring, this sensor bin is as practical as it is stylish. The capacity is only 20 litres and it uses a 27cm glass turntable rather than a flatbed design, so you won’t be able to fit large dishes in it.

One of the great things about the KOR7LBKM is the “zero standby” function. You can use this to switch off all power to the microwave without needing to unplug it. Inside, this vintage microwave is also a strong performer. It’s built with a concave reflex system, which distributes microwaves more evenly inside the cavity. This prevents cold spots within food. It also comes with several automatic cook programs, automatic defrost function and five power levels. As we always say: appearance is secondary when it comes to choosing a microwave – make sure you get strong and reliable performance above all else. Our List of the Best Retro-Style Microwaves

The start and pause/cancel buttons felt like they should have been swapped around. Having the start button on the bottom-right and the cancel button slightly to the left is much more common. So we kept hitting the wrong one, cancelling a program instead of starting it. Annoying but you’d soon get used to the layout.

The Akai provides an “American 60s Diner” style that we enjoy – although it’s the least powerful on this list (700W). But it’s not all retro. For example, there’s a bright digital display. This comes into its own when selecting one of the 12 built-in auto cooking modes. This brings up a dozen cute little icons. So it’s retro in a thoroughly modern way, a Jetsons microwave if you will.
