About this deal

An SLS free fluoride free toothpaste that contains no fluoride and which does contain an alternative remineralizing agent. Calcium phosphates (such as hydroxyapatite) help reharden the tooth surface in a similar way to fluoride. These ingredients are newer than fluoride and are still undergoing long term studies, but have been FDA approved. They are normally more expensive than fluoride, but there is lots of evidence supporting their effectiveness. Any toothpaste used with a correct regular brushing routine, should in most cases remove the vast majority of staining on the outside surface of the teeth and will help keep your teeth clean. Whilst I don’t recommend fluoride free toothpaste, as you miss out on the known anti-cavity properties of fluoride, I respect that some people may still wish to avoid toothpastes containing fluoride. Brushd also makes bamboo interdental brushes. Although to be honest, I’m on the fence about bamboo interdental brushes. They’re made of mixed materials. This means they will have to be sent to landfill, where biodegradable materials do not break down. Bamboo isn’t native to Europe so it has to be shipped from abroad. This possibly gives it a bigger carbon footprint than a plastic interdental brush. If you have a dry mouth, you may want to avoid ingredients that make this worse, or choose a toothpaste that can help you.

SLS and its foaming action helps to spread toothpaste into hard to reach areas, for example helping to get fluoride between the teeth where a toothbrush cannot reach. This could be for a number of reasons, such as wanting to avoid ingredients that are harsh on the environment. For example, opting for an SLS free toothpaste. No. Always spit out the excess, but do not rinse out after brushing, this removes the good left behind by the paste and brushing. Are toothpaste tablets safe for kids? It is Bite who have perhaps drawn the most attention to this new type of toothpaste product thanks to gaining the attention of leading publications around the world. According to the NHS, children under 3 years of age should use a toothpaste with no less than 1000ppm fluoride. While enterprises like TerraCycle offer collection-points for oral care products, plenty still end up in landfill. Moreover, many toothpastes – roughly half according to Dutch NGO Plastic Soup Foundation’s Beat the Microbead campaign – also contain microplastics, tiny indestructible plastic polymers that get spat down the sink and washed into the food chain. You put 1 tab into your mouth and chew it, for example on your molars. Then you get a creamy consistency, not foamy. We deliberately use only a very gentle and natural surfactant. I have divided the list up into 2 parts, those with fluoride and those without. Buy toothpaste tablets with fluoride

Frustratingly, Colgate hasn’t introduced this recyclable tube across their whole range, and the price point is much higher for this toothpaste. I smell greenwashing. This is Denttabs' explanation (in their own words, which has been translated from German, by them may I add) as to why they used these ingredients, so refreshing to see a company explaining the purpose of what they put in their product! - Once you’ve chosen a product, make sure you use it regularly and properly. See our guide here on how to brush your teeth. Are the days of snapping your toothbrush in half behind us? It’s an old ultralight hiking joke, but some of you have tried it. I know I have! Microcellulose fibers (microcrystalline cellulose) polishes your teeth and in between, helping to prevent plaque and buildup of particles on the tooth and around the tooth.
