About this deal

The Immerse can do full wet which when used with something like the hall setting can be perfect for ambient soundscapes. There are a couple of switches on the top for trails, when engaged this will keep the trails of the reverb going when the pedal is turned off until they fade out. And a kill dry for if running it in a parallel effects loop. I don’t so I haven’t turned this one on. I have trails turned on but I very rarely turn the pedal off so I haven’t really used this feature. Detune – Adds a detuned double of the dry signal with reverb, now with true blend control between detune and detuned reverb. Negatives: no presets, it’s on the pricey side especially when you consider that it doesn’t have presets and a lot of reverbs in this price range have them. An option for a favourites switch like strymon have would be nice even if it meant the pedal was wider or taller as it’s already very compact. This is quite a minor gripe, but hopefully something that might be remedied in a later version. Echo is a blending type delay. You can control how much delay you want in your signal or how much reverb. It’s more of an either or while blending between the two. To be honest, the delay was frustrating at first because it sounded better than my other delay pedals. What a good problem to have though.

And those ultra-ambient washes we were wondering about? They’re in there – but make that a million lovelorn angels. If you’ve ever listened to a cathedral organ and thought the best bit was the slow dying of those massive, dissonant overtones after the organist stopped playing, you’ll enjoy kneeling in front of your amp for a few sacred moments of this. However, Neunaber's flagship W3T reverb mode has been refined too, delivering asmoother and more three-dimensional sound. Now with adjustable pre-delay, it enhances what you play without covering it. Spring is not a type I used much before as they just sounded too digital on other pedals to me. However, Neunaber has made it a prominent tone for me. I’ll move into single coil territory with a tiny bit of dirt while I add a spring reverb on it to create a very vintage tone. Spring – The distinctive twerp of a tube-driven spring reverb. Now with adjustable modulation speed, it can achieve a vibrato-spring sound. W3T (Wet version 3) — exclusive to the Mk II, our new flagship reverb is smoother and more three-dimensional sounding than ever before. Now with adjustable pre-delay, it enhances what you play without covering it.Detune– Adds a detuned double of the dry signal with reverb, now with true blend control between detune and detuned reverb. Serving as an incredible ambient and creative tool, the MkII builds upon the foundations of the original unit.Featuring a number ofthoughtful updates, the Neunaber Immerse MkII reverb pedal not only sounds superior, but is also more user-friendly than ever before. A Raft of Reverbs Some pedals give you a lot of options and you feel paralyzed with what to do. Neunaber have hit the perfect point with this pedal. Along with the standard controls that make the reverb sound like it does you also have a 'kill dry' switch to well kill the dry signal as well as a 'trails' switch to set if the effect trails off after you turn it off. Specifications The Immerse Mk II houses eight stellar stereo reverbs — W3T (new Wet version 3), Hall, Plate & Spring Reverb, Shimmer, Wet+Sustain, Wet+Echo, and Wet+Detune. Each effect has been painstakingly crafted: there are no fillers here. Delivering unrivaled sound quality and no-nonsense flexibility in a compact footprint, the Immerse Mk II can be used with instruments of all stripes.

If you’re in the market, do yourself a major favor and give this a whirl before making your decision. I’d recommend this for any guitar player looking to add a high quality reverb. This, or some variation of it, will be on my board for a long time to come. Once you’ve managed to decode that array of lines and words wiggling down from the central mode control, you’ll find there are eight sounds on offer: four standard reverbs, two with ‘shimmer’, one with added echo (delay) and one intriguingly labelled ‘detune’. The bottom-right knob controls a different parameter depending on the mode, while the tone control doubles up as delay time when you’re in ‘reverb+echo’ mode.Shimmer – Reminiscent of a synth pad that follows what your instrument plays, this effect combines the best qualities of our previous shimmers. While other members of the Neunaber family give you one setting on board that be changed using either a computer or the optional EXP pedal the Immerse Reverberator has much more tweakability on the go. With 8 different reverb options including wet, hall, plate, spring, two types of shimmer, +echo and +detune you have a lot available here. The Immerse Mk II represents the very best in pedal reverberation — with studio-quality algorithms, high-fidelity circuitry, heavy-duty components and construction — all in a small footprint. The Mk II is a monumental step forward and features completely-redesigned circuitry and upgraded algorithms. The sustain algorithm is an odd one. It can be configured as a sustainer or an infinite reverb. I think I have only used it in the sustainer mode and need to try it in infinite. As a sustainer it only sustains the notes as you play them and once you move to another chord or note it cuts out, this could just be user error, but it wasn’t something I explored further. Echo is more of a reverb with a bit of delay, which could be useful to make a sound even vaster. It’s again not an algorithm I’ve spent much time with.

Boasting an analogue dry-throughsignal path for low noise and zero latency, the Immerse MkII also sports a high-quality buffer to ensure that your signal remains strong and clear. Stereo outputs also let you take full advantage of the incredible reverbsoffered by the unit, so that you can achieve an ultra-wide wall of soundwhen using two amplifiers. Modes:

Detune – Adds a detuned double of the dry signal with reverb. The blend control adjusts the amount of detune vs. detuned reverb. Other misc features are: Stereo in and out, Kill Dry Switch (externally accessible), Trails Switch (externally accessible). The Kill Dry is much more helpful than I anticipated. While it does have more practical uses for how you wire up your rig, I use it mainly to shape my reverb tone. The fact that this is external is brilliant. There are no favorite switches or taps and this will never plug into your PC for updates like their Expanse series. W3T (Wet v3) — Our flagship reverb algorithm is smoother and more three-dimensional sounding than ever before. With adjustable pre-delay, it enhances what you play without covering it. That’s four of the five knobs. The 5th knob is a variable knob that changes its purpose depending on the reverb type you use. Hall – The lush, open sound of a concert hall with adjustable modulation depth for achieving deep modulated tones.

Neunaber make pedals for the ambient guitarist. Their range of shimmers, verbs, and modulation are all created using digitalalgorithms but with the quality you would expect out of an all analogue circuit. The Immerse Reverberator is a multitype reverb pedal that covers everything from the subtle to the insane. CONTROLS Effect level, depth, tone, variable function control (depending on mode selected), eight-way mode switch: wet, hall, plate, spring, 2x shimmer, rev+echo, rev+detune; ‘kill dry’ and trails switchesAs in the pedal’s previous incarnation, each mode can be tweaked through five knobs: Effect Selection, Mix, Depth, and two multi-function controls. In addition, external Kill Dry and Trails switches and stereo in/outs that can be used in mono or stereo contribute to make this stompbox also extremely flexible. Sustain – A new algorithm built on the W3T reverb. This magical, versatile effect can be configured as a sustainer or infinite reverb. Hall sounds similar but with a nicely judged pre-delay to keep the dry sound further out in front, and is equally luscious with a dash (or more than a dash) of modulation. Plate differs subtly again, adding some metallic density, and this time you can adjust the length of pre-delay. Inevitably, that’s at the expense of modulation – a minor compromise, but perhaps the first sign of the compact format’s limitations.
