RDL coils are similar to DTL coils, but they have a higher resistance. Something in the range of 0.4-ohms to 0.8-ohms is typical. For some reason Smok called the 3rd Nord “ Nord X“. As far as I’m concerned evolution slowed down a little here. The X is a 60w Kit that comes with the RPM and RPM 2 pods.
The main problem I found with this kit was the fill port gaskets. I got that peed off with them I ripped them off! Finally, the 1.4 Ohm ceramic coils, feature a ceramic build that has a longer lifespan than standard coils and produce a better flavour from e-liquids. We again recommend using 50% PG and high PG e-liquids.The inclusion of 2 styles of pods and the coils to support them allows MTL or DTL vaping straight out the box. DTL vaping uses devices with high wattage to pump power into the coil. This process is able to produce a lot more vapour. However, the side effect is that it creates extra heat. To cool this down, DTL vaping uses lots of air. I thought providing 2 different pods, (3 if you include the RPM), and having adjustable airflow Smok had a really good opportunity to make the ultimate All In One device but the airflow let this down quite a lot. At 25W there is ample flavour, It’s not super prominent but with the airflow set to half way it prominent enough to taste and enjoy. Smok Nord 50w Battery
The Nord coils are always decent performers, they do feel slightly dated after I have experienced the Innokin Sceptre, Lost Vape UB Lite and Vapefly Galaxies 30W coils which are super flavour monsters in comparison. The vape experience is slightly underwhelming compared to more modern kits. You can use other 510 drip tips on here but there is a raised lip which looks a bit odd with a different tip but I found my 510 tips fitted snugly.The Smok Prince has been quite popular in the past years among the market, therefore i decided to cover them too, as the users are still out there. So my recommendation is 70%VG is the maximum VG I would go for in this kit – it performed well with that ratio but felt like it was struggling with 80%. Nord Regular 1.4ohm Coil (12W Recommended) 50/50 Nic Salt Liquid Vaping style is one of the first things you need to consider when choosing between all the different SMOK coils. So my advice is to use some kind of prong and pull them out as once you have done this the kit is mega simple to use. Nic Salt mostly comes with a 50/50 blend of VG and PG. Typically, strengths are either 20mg or 10mg; however, more manufacturers are producing 5mg options lately.I took to 20w with the airflow fully off and the flavour was more prominent but still faint. I really hoped that turning the airflow up a little would heighten the flavour but I was wrong.
