Defrost: The appliance features an intelligent automatic defrost feature. This enables the machine to protect itself and prevent the build-up of ice on the internal evaporator coils. Refrigerant dehumidifiers work best when there is a big difference in temperature between the coils and air. This is why they tend to be most effective at room temperature and above, but gradually become worse as the temperature drops. One nice thing about this design is that the controls are very simple to use. They consist of only 4 buttons – two are up and down buttons for adjusting the humidity level, one is for turning the unit on & off, while the last button is for accessing a timer function. There is also an LCD screen that displays the humidity level of a room. LED indicator lights that show chosen settings, when the dehumidifier is on, and when the tank is full are great additions as well. Let's start with the basics though. It's a refrigerant (compressor) dehumidifier with a built-in humidistat, digital display and a 24 hour timer. Weighing 9.5kg, it's considerably lighter than the 20L version, and also much smaller. The plain white design isn't going to win any awards for innovation, but it's clean and simple to use. Electriq dehumidifiers often go under the radar compared to the "big three" manufacturers ( Ebac, E coAir and Meaco) - but they are starting to grow in popularity.I suffer from Asthma, always have since birth and every year around this time my Asthma worsens. It’s due to the cooler air mixing with central heating which creates condensation and therefore mould. Mould is a huge trigger for anyone with Asthma. Please accept my apologies for the issues with the installation. This is certainly not the experience we expect our customers to have. The electriQ 12 Litre Dehumidifier is perfect. It’s easy to use and makes a huge difference to me and my Asthma. I especially like the LED lighting indicator which is easy to follow and understand. Emptying the water tank is easy too and you’ll be just as surprised as me as to how much condensation has been collected. Tank-Full Alarm: When the water tank is full an audible alarm will go off to alert you. The LED light will also start to flash, and the unit will power itself off. Empty the tank and full service will resume.The Electriq 10l dehumidifier is a solid model, but, unlike the 20L version, we can't recommend it over alternatives such as the Meaco Small Home Dehumidifier. It's easy to use and relatively cheap, but struggles to remove enough water from the air compared to its closest competitors. The carry handle is promoted as a feature for transporting the unit upstairs yet the manual warns not to use the handle to carry the unit upstairs. Rubber feet at the base help to give the unit more stability when setting it up. However, this does not do much in making it easier to move the dehumidifier. Thanks to its small and light build, you can simply lift and carry the unit to any spot in the house. Emptying the electriQ 10L

Unlike other standard dehumidifiers, with the ElectriQ 12L dehumidifier you do not need to worry about spillages. The machine features an audible full tank alarm that goes off when the tank collects water to its maximum capacity. There is also a LED light that starts to flash, and the device turns itself off automatically. After this, it can only resume functions when the tank is emptied. At this present moment in time the answer is no. I can’t think of anything that can be improved on this unit, it works brilliantly, and my breathing has improved.
