About this deal

I did reboot the Foxsat after flashing the firmware, however I do not get the "Custom Fw v4.1.3" on the display after BOOT. I used version 4.1.3 to flash

The Humax Foxsat HDR has won numerous award since its release in November 2008. The Humax Foxsat HDR has won the 2008 Freesat Awards and has recently been awarded "Home Gadget of the Year" by T3. That's right I have done that and flagged non-freesat channels as freesat so I can see them on guide with 5000+ numbers but I can't seem to find an option to manually record them via actual remote. I can play them on my phone via VLC but if I try to chromecast the recordings to my tv the picture is chopped halve with line going through etc. Any idea why I can't chromecast them? With the custom firmware, non-Freesat channels can be added to the Freesat EPG. Unfortunately no EPG programme information is available for non-Freesat channels. Sky's EPG only allows you to enter the first letter of a programme, which is about as welcome as a Woolworth's gift token.CF has it's own thread - worth a scan-read through. to get a feel for it. As well as the CF you should install nowster's patch.

Also is there any way to auto convert recordings? I am still manually converting them to get the DLNA logo to stream. Oh, I almost forgot: I'm sure you know, but the hidden menu is Red, Green, Yellow, Blue, Green, Yellow, Blue when "Manual Tune" is highlighted but not selected.Select Yes and press the OK button to restore all setting to factory default. To return to the previous menu, select No and press the OK. Do you have seperate subnet for WiFi and Hard wired kits ? Can you temporarily connect the PC by cable to your router ? NOTE: It may take 5~10 minutes to update software. Other functions will not activate while the software update takes place. You cannot schedule programmes during the software update. Standard definition contents we had no qualms about either, comparable in quality to most Freeview services. The box does come with the “upscaling” promise, but what this really means is that you don’t lose any quality because you can use the HDMI. As with Freeview, quality also differs between providers with the quality seeming to deteriorate as you setup through numbers. BBC is generally very good, ITV seems to get progressively worse as you move up through ITV2+1 and so on. But the SD channel quality is nothing to complain about, until it's contrasted with the great HD content, which will simply leave you wanting more. My personal experience of Sony TVs is that the built in DLNA client is pretty poor. Perhaps the reason some play and some don't is related to the content of the recording. For example, maybe the Sony client can't play certain types of audio and can only play recordings with "simple" stereo audio.
