As the book goes on things escalate and escalate and as you see June grow. Then something comes along to strike her down again. Anyone who has read Seed will know that it’s not only Lisa’s writing that’s powerful but Lisa’s endings are just as powerful and will make any reader a huge hot blubbering mess of tears…..a bit like me after I finished reading this book. I understand why this choice was not made — opening without revealing the ending spurs instant empathy from the audience, while revealing the ending could’ve ruined this. However, the result is that this book is marketed as a narrative about abuse, and that was my expectation going in. The real point of the story is not clear until the 90% mark, quite literally. I also loved the twist of it being a preacher’s son, when it’s typically the other way around 😂 (I still binge Preacher’s Daughters from TLC to this day 😂). Overall, I really love this book and I recommend it to anyone who loves a good YA Romance! It wasn’t about courage. You had that. It was about opportunity and faith in human nature. Yet your faith in that was being destroyed.” I am broken after reading this book. My heart is bleeding from all the emotions that I was feeling when reading this horrifying and heart wrenching novel. True monsters due exist and they can break the strongest soul down when they put their claws in it. This book...I am speechless.... I cried so hard for June. I wanted to wrap my arms around her and take all her hurt away. I was so angry and disguised at how she was treated, at what was done to her...the only part that made things a little better for me and put a small bandage on my broken heart was the love and friendship between June and Blister.

I totally did not expect to like this book as much as I did! Honestly, I could not put it down! This story is about A Preacher’s son and An Escort’s daughter falling in love. And to be completely honest, there isn’t as much a problem with this as I thought there would be. Keep collections to yourself or inspire other shoppers! It doesn’t matter too much how big your paper is, but ours was approximately 15cm x 15cm – any color paper is lovely)Sometimes a book comes along that makes a footprint on your memory and your heart for a long long time. I highly recommend this book with all of my heart. Go and read it and fall in love, laugh, cry and go and grab all of the people that you love and hold them tightly.
