That said, the vast majority of contaminants work their way into lenses through the rear mount, so as long as they aren’t abused, these lenses will provide many years of trouble-free use, even in moderate weather.

Removal is sometimes very challenging, and in some cases, flare effects can be quite destructive to image quality. The shape, intensity, and position of the flare effects in an image are variable, dependent on the position and nature of the light source (or sources), selected aperture, shape of the aperture blades, and quantity and quality of the lens elements and their coatings. We test lenses using both real world sample images and lab tests. Our lab tests are carried out scientifically in controlled conditions using the Imatest testing suite, which consists of custom charts and analysis software that measures resolution in line widths/picture height, a measurement widely used in lens and camera testing. We find the combination of lab and real-word testing works best, as each reveals different qualities and characteristics. No lens case is included in the box, but finding a case for a common lens form factor is not challenging. When I'm photographing landscapes and architecture with corner sharpness being desired, I'm probably using f/8 or f/11 to obtain enough depth of field for in-focus corner details, and this lens works well for these purposes at these apertures.

It’s also worth noting that the 16mm f1.4 DC DN Contemporary lens comes with a lens hood. I tried it for a few days but truthfully, I shot without it most of the time. The 16mm f1.4 performs great without it, and I generally like to carry less, if I can get away with it. https://www.lenstip.com/412.4-Lens_review-Panasonic_Leica_DG_Summilux_15_mm_f_1.7_ASPH_Image_resolution.html If there was no market on m43, then the two main camera manufacturers within the system plus various third parties wouldn't keep making lenses for it. This article is about a lens, so is written from the perspective of someone who already owns a Micro Four Thirds camera and is considering said lens. As I said in the last review, Sigma's game is high quality for a reasonable price, and again in this case, the price is very low.

Sigma 16mm F1.4 DC DN C Review - Amateur Photographer

Except for a small number of specialty lenses, the wide aperture bokeh in the frame's corner does not produce round defocused highlights, with these effects taking on a cat's eye shape due to a form of mechanical vignetting. Absolutely it was. Very much so, but facing the choice of the two, I got the M43 version for the most wonderful bokeh.

The focal length is always a primary consideration when selecting the ideal lens for a particular use. The USPS love stamps shared above have an image area that measures 1.05 x 0.77" (26.67 x 19.558mm), and the overall individual stamp size is 1.19 x 0.91" (30.226 x 23.114mm). With increasing frequency, manufacturers are relying on software over physical lens design to handle geometric distortion.

Pairing this lens with an X-T4 made for an excellent photography experience. Even with the Sigma 16mm f/1.4 being the bulkiest of its siblings, it was still small and light enough to carry around without issue. Although, this lens is long enough it could potentially be an issue for X-Pro users who enjoy their OVF experience. This lens was great to use for environmental portraits, some architectural photos, and landscape work as well. and assuming everyone who is following this thread knows these esioteric equivalence arguments you are referencing does a disservice to the new learners of the craft who may stumble on this comment equivalent in FF/35mm terms? What's that got to do with this preview/review of a 32mm equivalent lens? Mount an extension tube behind this lens to significantly decrease and increase those respective numbers.

Eh, it's actually cheaper than even the 17/1.8 (if you go by MSRP, tho the street price has dropped a lot which is surprising for an Oly lens), let alone the f1.2 Pro... That alone makes it an option worth bringing to market and having in the system.
