About this deal

Because it turns out that in the mid 90's, Electrical Engineer PhD Floyd Toole came up with a method called Spinorama. This is exactly what he accomplished with this. Turns out that his book Sound Reproduction is like the bible of audiophiles. That said, the Marshall Acton II doesn’t appear to feature aptX, meaning you don’t get high fidelity audio over Bluetooth – unlike some of the competition, such as the similarly styled but far bigger and pricier BoomBocs . However, it does use digital signal processing (DSP), so the quality doesn’t distort at higher volumes. Also, Marshall speakers don't propagate sound 360 degrees (unlike Beoplay M5, for example). So the distance from the speakers is also a primary factor here. I'll assume it's either corner or wall placed. If not, shift these values accordingly. Here is a link to the manual for the Kilburn II, https://support.marshallheadphones.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000356678-User-Manual-Kilburn-II Unless you're an audio expert, technical specs might have confused you here. It certainly did confuse me.

Which brings me to my second beef with the decibel metric: Even when measured correctly, it fails to deliver the REAL aspect to loudness and power. L'enceinte Marshall Acton II comprend une connexion sans fil Bluetooth 5.0, sans perte de qualité, avec une portée de 10 m. Here is a link for the Acton II Bluetooth manual, https://support.marshallheadphones.com/hc/en-us/articles/360000459618-User-Manual-Acton-II-Bluetooth One of the most iconic audio brands ever, Marshall’s success all really started with their amplifiers, which have been a top choice for musicians the world over for decades.I was wondering about the differences between Marshall's Acton II vs Kilburn II speakers as they're roughly the same size. Although the free Marshall Multi-Room app can be used to set-up and operate the Marshall Acton and its peers, in practice it appears to have hived-off everything to the Google Home app. That's a new development – it wasn't that way on the Marshall Stanmore we reviewed recently.

Using the app is simple. Just connect your devices, adjust the volume, and get on with your life. You can fiddle with more detailed adjustments if you’re that way inclined, like equalisers and noise control for headphones – everything is there to help create your perfect fit. But for engineering products like speakers? Personal tastes and preferences probably still play a role. But shouldn't it be less? I'm not saying you'd better ditch the decibel rating completely, because you shouldn't. It does have its place. But in this subject case, there's no comparison between the Acton and the Kilburn. Because it's not only difficult to measure, but also fails to deliver what a casual customer cares the most about.

Now... Assuming average wall insluation, sound proofing and room acoustics... and assuming you're not looking for drunk party level loud but still fairly loud... In terms of these general aspects of presentation, our main issues are with the midrange and a hardening of the sound when the Marshall is pushed to higher volumes. The latter is fairly self-explanatory, but we’re quite underwhelmed by the thinness and recessed character of the midrange. Those frequencies are incredibly important, especially for voices, and that really hits home when presented with a feeble performance such as this. A better-sized speaker for general use than its pricier sibling the Marshall Stanmore, the great-sounding, incredibly well-connected – and very expensive – Marshall Acton is ultimately let down by its unreliability as a wireless speaker. It's a nice try, but this is arguably style over substance.

Mes amis m’ont offert cette enceinte et je suis très heureux de l’avoir. Son au top 👌 et facile d’utilisation. If you're going to be listening to your speakers in an apartment flat without significant sound proofing, it might be even more important than the loudness. If you don't need portability, then get the Acton since it produces noticeably higher quality sounds. Excerpt of the chat with the Customer Rep Smaller size of Acton II forces downsizing the amplifiers as well. This is why Acton II is equipped with 30 W woofer and the Stanmore II with 50 W woofer.Don't get me wrong. Acton II still sounds pretty good. Compared to other less capable speakers such as the Kilburn II, it sounds noticeably better.

The use of the Google Home did prove useful during set-up, but it's otherwise a pointless additional app. While it can be used to add new devices, you'll need to open the Marshall app to make any changes to volume, bass and treble, for example. Using the app it's easy enough to swap between other Marshall speakers on the same network, and set-up presets to Spotify playlists and web radio stations via the app. Having previously used Marshall's own app to successfully set-up the Marshall Stanmore, having Google Home now so baked into the process seems rather pointless. So do the unnecessarily high volumes. Marshall has its own Bluetooth app for both Android and iOS devices which you can use to personalize or customise your music experience. Battery: Things have moved on. There’s no longer just a dial to twist when your favourite song comes on, then guard to make sure no one else touches it. With the app, you can crank up the volume from the kitchen and there’s nothing anyone can do about it.

Via the control knobs, the bass and treble levels can be manipulated to suit your taste and room. This is a nice touch, and the ability to use physical controls means that fine-tuning on the fly is an easy task. Having said this, don’t expect the controls to completely alter the sound; think of them as tweaks, rather than drastic alterations. It delivers high quality, well balanced, natural and powerful sound and is equipped with three dedicated class D Amplifiers that power dual tweeters and a subwoofer The colormap provides you the locations with the best (green) and worst (red) listening experience.
