About this deal
Within this Remington HC4500 review we will take a close look at the all-important features, explain the results after testing and using the clippers, provide an idea of what other sources have to say, and finally recommend who these palm-held clippers would be best suited for. You should still keep them clean, however. Always use a brush to remove the hair before and after every haircut. Even self sharpening blades will eventually get dull and start tugging at your hair. A user may also keep the clippers switched on and run water from the tap over the front of the blades. You might want to put a spot of antibacterial hand soap on the blades with water to assist with extra cleansing. Remington tout the waterproof body of the HC4250 clipper. They do so quite energetically. And you know – they have the full right to. I had used the previous Remington HC4250 for over a year and had a good idea of what to expect from the model reviewed here. This model’s use and testing was mainly about finding any extra benefits or disadvantages over the last model.
The Remington HC3400 and the older HC4250 are the best self-cut DIY hair clippers I have used so far. The whole design thing of the larger blades and palm-held body just work so well compared to standard hair clippers. How often do you get to cut your hair and just rinse the blades afterwards? Now you can grab this little fellow, skip the dreaded cleaning after a buzz and be done in only a few minutes. It’s extremely ergonomic as well. If this ain’t a winning combination, I don’t know what would be. To top it off, aLithium-ion battery is here to give you up to 40 minutes of cordless action too. Charging it fully takes 4 hours which is quite acceptable. In fact, I think the shape of the SCC-100 is much nicer and more ergonomic . I wish they could have continued with this style when they updated the clippers.
REMOVABLE BLADE
Moving onto the combs, the fact that the largest comb is some measly 5/8″ (15mm) is a bit disappointing. While the Shortcut Pro improves on SCC-100’s shortest attachment (1/8″ -> 1/16″), 5/8″ is still rather limiting.
Washable– The Remington HC4300 can be cleaned using the cleaning brush provided, and there is a cleaning port that a user may run water through to clean it thoroughly.I did try manscaping with combs, and while they do the job of trimming to a specific size, they are a bit big. Also, while trimming my chest they did dig into my skin.
