About this deal

Almost equidistant between Portsmouth and Southampton, the Whitehall of Hampshire has a number of historic buildings intertwined with a more modern pedestrianised shopping area, along with many cafes and restaurants. Old streets and narrow roads form the town centre, which surround the Norman Abbey. Broadlands, the former home of Lord Palmerston and Lord Louis Mountbatten, also forms part of the rich history of the area. These adverts enable local businesses to get in front of their target audience – the local community. The town is set in the Hamble Valley, close to the River Hamble and Solent, so provides many scenic areas as well as its transport links – located close to Southampton Airport, the M27 and the M3.

It is, though, an ideal solution if you are after a relatively cheap property, at least compared to other areas of Hampshire, that is within a short distance from the seaside. MONOPOLY chiefs are keeping their decisions on which Southampton landmarks are included on the board under their trademark bowler hats and close to their community chests. The second of the yellow squares is taken up by Petersfield, another Hampshire market town just up the A3 from Portsmouth. The firm pressed ahead with the Southampton version after the city trounced its south coast rivals by 3,062 votes to 1,427.Based in the heart of Southampton and Portsmouth respectively, Southampton Central and Portsmouth Harbour form two of the four railway stations on our board. Ever wondered what a Hampshire Monopoly board would look like if different areas of the county represented the 22 property spaces from Old Kent Road to Mayfair, though?

Southampton Monopoly promoter Graham Barnes said: "We are delighted with the Monopoly Southampton edition - all the key players are on the board. Yet another market town, Lymington is located on the south of the New Forest and provides an ideal setting of countryside and seaside. Its town centre is also filled with cobbled streets, independent shops and a variety of pubs. The second of the orange squares, Great Marlborough Street, is Basingstoke with properties selling at just a fraction more than Lee-on-the-Solent. Our research suggests there are a lot of close family ties in the city, with many families looking forward to sitting down and playing the new game."A small shopping centre and a variety of cafes and restaurants fill the town centre, which is currently the focus of a controversial pedestrianisation scheme. Cities, towns, counties and now, even football clubs are celebrated through these special editions of this classic family game. Featuring many of the region's most famous landmarks and cultural icons, they make wonderful gifts, souvenirs of a trip, or great family fun with a local flavour. Another village set in the heart of the New Forest, Sway is ideal if you seek tranquillity, while the seaside town of Lymington is only a short distance away. It is another spot popular among walkers and campers. BUILD YOUR SOUTHAMPTON EMPIRE: Buy up colour sets and use your custom Monopoly money to expand your empire by building houses and hotels

Assume that Chelski and Manure are trying to outbid each other for hotels on Park Lane and Mayfair. League 2 are scratching around the utilities, train stations and maybe Old Kent Road. It goes without saying that the skates are in jail, owing money to everyone and praying for a Get Out Of Jail Free card. Two major developments are ongoing in the city which, upon completion, could see it move up the board in the future. UNIQUE GAME BOARD featuring a beautiful photo montage that shows off all the sights Southampton has to offer While the market town bears little resemblance to Northumberland Avenue, it is a short distance from the glorious walks of Queen Elizabeth Country Park. Surrounded by the South Downs, Petersfield is ideally placed to travel down to the south coast and up to London Waterloo on the train. Pubs and restaurants fill the town centre, too.

Moving up to the north of the county and the Hart district, Fleet occupies the final yellow square on our board. In terms of the Monopoly board, Gosport would be the budget hotel square you can use to bring in some steady cash as players pass Go.Nearly every family at some point in their lives has sat down to play Monopoly, often with mixed results.
