About this deal

Bluetooth greatly expands the headset’s utility. It’s much easier to pair the headset with a PC, and you can pair it with other devices, like your phone. Better yet, you can pair it with a Bluetooth device and an Xbox simultaneously. This allows you to adjust audio levels on the fly while playing, but also lets you listen to a podcast or take a call on your phone while listening to your Xbox audio at the same time. (As someone who likes to put on a podcast while playing some games, this was a huge revelation for me). A new firmware update is ready for your Stealth 700 Gen 2 for Xbox and PlayStation ®! Connect your headset to the Turtle Beach Audio Hub program to update your device’s firmware to version (v.2.0.1). Our comprehensive tests help you buy the very best for your money, with our advice sections giving you step-by-step information on how to get even more from your music and movies. Our coveted five-star rating and Awards are recognised all over the world as the ultimate seal of approval, so you can buy with absolute confidence. The Stealth 700 Gen 2 houses 50mm nano clear neodymium drivers, so the headset is at its best in complex, more bass-focused environments and games. As such, FPS enthusiasts and shooter gluttons will find the most enjoyment in the more low-end focused sound stage. If things start getting really hectic – we’re looking at you MMO players – the headset can struggle to layer things through in a way that’s easy to parse, and in hectic environments, you might notice the headset’s usual clarity gets a bit muddy.

The Turtle Beach Audio Hub mobile app for iOS and Android has received an update to v3.14.5 (189) for iOS and v3.14.5 (220) for Android. Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 – SoftwareThe Stealth 700 Gen 2 uses two pieces of software, both called Turtle Beach Audio Hub. The Audio Hub app on your gaming PC only communicates with the Stealth 700 Gen 2 as a means of upgrading its firmware. You’ll need it, but you’ll rarely use it. The Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 offers pretty good audio for a gaming headset, but it runs into some common pitfalls. The frequency response chart for the Turtle Beach Stealth 700 Gen 2 shows that audio in the mid and high end is relatively close to our house curve, but bass gets a big boost across the board. Up until around 250Hz, audio output is around twice as loud as it otherwise should be. Lows, mids, and highsLike with any headset, after an extended gaming session I was conscious of the band against the top of my head, but it was never sore, and slight adjustments relieved any minor discomfort. As a mark of how comfy it was, I fell asleep while listening to podcasts late at night with the headset on, and only woke up several hours later. The second big selling point of the Max is battery life. The base Gen 2 lasted roughly 20 hours per charge, but the Max will last more than 40 hours, according to Turtle Beach, which is longer than all but one of the headsets on our best wireless headset list. It stood up to that claim in my testing: after two weeks using it on and off, adding up to more than 25 hours of sound time, I was hovering at about 50% battery. I took it on a weekend away knowing, gloriously, that I could leave the charger behind, saving space in my bag. The headset’s newly-added metal-reinforced headband and glasses-friendly design mean even players with big heads and glasses frames aren’t going to be made to feel uncomfortable during marathon sessions. We have very minor complaints about the quality of the hinges and joints that allow the cups to move and the headband to adjust, but through some quite intense testing (over a period of months!) the headset has held up and is as good as new now, some 100+ days into our review period. Fixed an issue where game volume was low on PlayStation 5. TURTLE BEACH AUDIO HUB - Desktop Software

The Turtle Beach Audio Hub will be available for the Stealth™ 600 USB for Xbox and Stealth™ 600 MAX for Xbox soon! A new firmware update is ready for your Stealth 700 Gen 2 for Xbox and PlayStation ®! Connect your headset to the Turtle Beach Audio Hub program on your PC or Mac to update your device’s firmware to version (v.2.0.3). Even with all its changes, though, the Stealth 700 Gen 2 is still a more feature-rich version of the Stealth 600 Gen 2, and the last generation of Turtle Beach’s Stealth headsets. Though the plastic band is slightly larger and features a steel frame, the Stealth 700 Gen 2 features the same rotating hinges as the Stealth 600 Gen 2, and the same shaped earcups designed to hug your ears. Turtle Beach’s exclusive, patented ProSpecs™ glasses relief system features dual-foam ear cushions, with softer foam in the section of the ear cushions that rests against your glasses, alleviating pressure and allowing gamers withLike the Stealth 600 Gen 2, the Stealth 700 Gen 2 supports virtual 7.1 surround sound through Windows Sonic, and offers a functional, but not particularly rousing virtual surround sound experience. In games like Apex Legends, you can hear directionality of gunfire, footsteps and other sounds, but sounds coming from your side or behind you sometimes sound disproportionately loud. On the Stealth 700 Gen 2 specifically, I noticed that Windows Sonic created compression issues, which led to little pip noises coming out of nowhere every so often. Simply put, most games sound better with it off. Connecting it to your phone and booting up Turtle Beach’s dedicated phone app is the only way to tweak the headset’s settings. It stops short of full EQ level controls, but it still has lots of features. You can set up your own custom balance of bass and treble, adjust the mic level, and tweak the volume of system audio prompts. Like the 700 Gen 2, You get virtual 7.1 surround sound through Windows Sonic and Dolby Atmos. I tested it a lot with my go-to battle royale, Fortnite, and found it worked fine without blowing me away. The direction of footsteps was always clear, but it all felt a little flat: I found it difficult to make out subtle differences in how far away gunshots were.
