About this deal

I had been procrastinating whether to work for another company or start something new. After reading his book, I was hooked and joined this group. Still struggling a bit but feel good about the future. Michael’s book was what I needed at the time.” We combined the 20 lists of “Best Consulting Books” and earmarked all individual books that were on those lists.

Consulting books are like proposals in a different format. They're a collection of ideas and suggestions. A storytelling format of the book with a novelistic writing style sometimes appears to be inspiring while at other times proves to be almost terrifying. David Wessels is an adjunct professor of finance and director of executive education at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. Named by Business Week as one of America’s top business school instructors, he teaches corporate valuation at the MBA and Executive MBA levels. David received his Ph.D. from the University of California at Los Angeles. Listed 6 out of 20 times. David H. Maister, one of the world’s leading authorities on the management of professional service firms, is the author of several successful books, including Managing the Professional Service Firm, True Professionalism, and Practice What You Preach, and coauthor of The Trusted Advisor. This was a very enjoyable book to read. The authors have interspersed lots of interviews with leaders in professional services firms, both big and small, which give great insight. The key focus is, of course, on shifting the sales conversation to one where you help clients to buy rather than actively chase them for a sale. It’s an important change of perspective. The book introduces a really useful framework called: The Seven Elements of the Client journey. This is a great framework around which to develop your marketing and sales strategy. Finally, there are tons of nuggets of wisdom in this book and I highly recommend it to any owners and leaders of consulting and professional services firms.”Offers three key points that interviewers assume during the initial 5 minutes of taking any case interview that would usually determine the final result immediately. Baldwin, Kristen (February 23, 2023). "Christoph Waltz raises hell in horror-comedy 'The Consultant' ". Entertainment Weekly. Stephen King said in "Danse Macabe," (I'm paraphrasing): "My goal is to terrify. When I can't do that, I will try to horrify, and if that fails... I'll go for the gross out." BL's philosophy seems to be (at least IMHO, having read about 7 or 8 of his books): start with the threat of something really gross and and then make the payoff much worse than you expect. He is a little like the Seth Rogan of horror novelists--there's a good chance a giant demon penis'll show up somewhere in either's work. Why didn't Craig stop his assistant Lupe from quitting? He knew about an accountant who left without giving notice and ended up killed in a strange accident. He wasn't an idiot, so he should've known that Lupe would suffer a similar fate. Via our Consulting Briefing Room, the Top Resources on the web are followed and only the most shared content is shown in relation to Consulting. This resulted in the final “The 20 Best Consulting Books” that have been recommended most times by all types of consulting experts. Craig chose a path in juxtaposition to Elaine as the season moved forward. He knew something was very weird about Patoff, and he decided to do something about it despite Patoff’s claims that Craig is weak and not a leader. In an homage to the company’s game, Craig uses a hammer to shatter the glass floor both men walk upon, resulting in Patoff falling through the shards like the game characters. When Patoff falls through, he loses a toe in the mess of party foods down below, presumably cut off by the sharp glass remnants. Craig brings the digit home with him and starts boiling it, something that is simultaneously bizarre and gross for viewers until they see the result: the toe is made of gold under the flesh. Regus Patoff, a mysterious consultant, comes to the rescue of CompWare, a mobile gaming company, after the murder of its CEO, and seemingly starts running the company. This is the benchmark for the ‘ins and outs’ of not just becoming a consultant but becoming a successful consultant. Priceless advice. Highly recommended!”

Episodes

Regus calls Elaine in the middle of the night, and tells her that Sang's mother is enroute from South Korea to the US; he asks her to stop her flight. Elaine, unable to do this, welcomes Ms. Sang when she arrives, much to the anger of Regus. Elaine and Craig research a previous company that Regus consulted with and find that the boss had been decapitated. Regus offers to personally take Mrs. Sang to her hotel, but Elaine goes to meet with her later and finds that she is missing. Craig begins producing a new game, Upskirt Jungle, that Regus enjoys playing. Elaine calls Craig to say that she thinks Regus killed Mrs. Sang, but Craig is excited that Regus has approved his game.
