Victrola The Eastwood Review (Complete Hands On Testing) Victrola The Eastwood Review (Complete Hands On Testing)

Listening to vinyl records on this Victrola Eastwood was no audiophile experience but it was a lot of fun. For the most part, The Eastwood isn’t necessarily going to be ideal for everyone. But if you fit the right mold, you’ll absolutely adore it.And so, the Eastwood doesn't require additional speakers and can even function as a Bluetooth speaker on its own. The bamboo-effect finish is attractive enough to keep the player on display, but it's also lightweight enough to only have out on special occasions. Absolutely! On first appearance, it doesn’t seem like there’s enough room to close the dust cover and still play records. But looks can be deceiving my friends. The Bluetooth turntable, knobs, buttons, and faceplate are all plastic but look surprisingly like textured aluminum. The faux metal faceplate has five buttons, two knobs, and a 1/8″ headphone port for wired listening. As the Eastwood is most likely to be used in Phono mode, we tested this first. To play your record, lift the clear plastic dust cover and place it on the turntable. The compact design means that the record won't actually fit perfectly, and you won't be able to close the dust cover again without removing it. Still, the visual effect is nice.

The Eastwood Bamboo – Victrola

The Eastwood Bluetooth turntable arrives already assembled and well protected in a box detailing all of its various capabilities. The tonearm is being held in place by the holder beside the turntable. Just release this, then place the arm above the edge of the record. It will start turning, and you can use the cue lever to lower the needle. Once I figured out all of the Eastwood’s little setup quirks it was time to start playing records. I grabbed some of my all-time favorite albums; Matthew Sweet’s power-pop magnum opus Girlfriend, the Beastie Boys’ hip-hop masterpiece Paul’s Boutique, and Weezer’s groundbreaking debut Blue Album. The Victrola The Eastwood record player is truly one of my favorite electronics at the moment. It combines old-school technology with the modern world in unique and interesting ways. The buttons control power, record play functions, and Bluetooth Out pairing. The knobs control volume and switching between phono play and Bluetooth In operation.

Final thoughts

If you've ever seen an audio player before, you will probably get on well with the Eastwood without even looking at the instruction manual (though we recommend you do!). As previously said, the controls are all clearly labelled, with the pause/play and skip buttons placed next to the power control. The volume control and Bluetooth to Phono switch are on the other side of the display. Victrola Eastwood is one such stylish and compact all-in-one system. It comes with a three-speed turntable and a modest built-in speaker. The tonearm is fixed in place by its holder, which you need to release. You then move the arm to the edge of your record, and it will start to turn. Then use the cue lever to lower the needle onto the disc. It should start playing.

Controls on the Victrola Eastwood Bluetooth Turntable are pretty self-explanatory and intuitive, and we only needed to give instructions a glance before diving in. Once you have hit the 'on' button and turned the knob to phono mode, you can open the clear plastic dust cover and place your chosen record on the turntable. Don't be alarmed when your disc doesn't fit, this is part of the design.

Features

Victrola recognizes this fact and took steps to do something about it. Instead of leaving a wide-open turntable susceptible to amassing unwanted dirt and dust and grime, they added a crystal-clear yet removable dust cover to keep any and all records protected as they sit upon the turntable.
