While the white end of the scale is, at times, blinding – check out any of the fire balls from the explosions! The HDR toning is darker and natural, with richer greens from the jungle, reds and oranges from the explosions and fires at the encampment, while the blacks are deeper for a bold contrast level. Barring the occasional softness that creeps in, a product of the source and has always been there, the detail on show is terrific.

We also get a solid dog character in Sarii who's pretty much a co-lead in the film and they're every bit the character you'd expect from a human actor. The expansive 4K sharpness is most evident with wide shots, while close-ups reveal skin textures never visible on the Blu-ray. With VisionCare – as well as Flickerless and BlueLightShield Pro, you can go on and gaze at neon-lit landscapes, warp through color-rich space anomalies, or watch in awe as explosions light up the room around you.

It is difficult to get behind the film, even for action hounds, as the inconsistency stands out so far; one has to wonder what the original vision might have been …. The company’s latest 4K gaming monitor, the ROG Swift PG42UQ, is a premium offering aimed at gaming enthusiasts that want excellent pictured quality backed by good motion resolution. Let me say that again; this image has had no digital tampering; it is grainy and dirty, but retains all the finite detail that was scrubbed from the last Blu-ray release and whose image was subsequently used for all releases since (including the 3D). The chemistry between the actors is intense and this coupled with a non-stop action script and an alien design that created an icon (thanks to a hasty character design by effects maestro Stan Winston) the effect is an action film that all want to live up to.With a packed pixel army, you can stretch your screen size well past 30 inches without having pixels so large that you can see them.
