I've found that high leg lifts or wide bridges are no problem in the Terras when wearing a harness but, like many other trousers, they lose some other their flexibility when they aren't being used with a harness . Made using Montane's Granite Stretch, a nylon double weave fabric with a PFC-free DWR, the Terra Route Pants are durable and abrasion-resistant, making them perfect for the rigours of multi-day treks.

Another great outdoor soft shell pant from Montane the Terra Route Pant is a stretchy, breathable and tough mountain pant designed for general mountain walking and multi-day trekking. I've done a few days of rock climbing on sandpaper-like granite with mine now, but you wouldn't know it. The trousers also have short zips on the ankle, although these serve no obvious purpose as I can't see why I would want to be taking the trousers off over a pair of boots.

This fabric is primarily made using high-quality nylon and features a durable water repellent coating (DWR) which will resist the rain and wind when exposed to the elements. I've been perfectly comfortable using Tactel trousers with just a light base-layer under them for –8 degree alpine starts from a tent high on the Argentiere glacier. Offering great flexibility and comfort, they allow full freedom of movement when lifting your knees up high.
