Having been here twice now and on both occasions accessed it by walking across the meadows from the main road, can someone advise on the best place to park? Initially, they had no particular plans for the garden centre; it was only on a trip to southern India in 2002 with his eldest daughter, Lara, that inspiration came to Francesco. The family’s latest venture, a stunning, 432-page coffee table book, is quintessential Petersham Nurseries: stylish yet unpretentious, aspirational but approachable. Meanwhile, place the whole peppers, halved tomatoes, thyme, chilli flakes and olive oil in a tray, add a pinch of salt and place under a hot grill for 10-15 minutes, turning once, and then allow to rest for a further 10 minutes. The private dining room is available to hire for up to 35 people, offering a sophisticated dining experience within a beautiful and serene space.I know there are some spaces in the lane leading to it but this week it was very muddy and puddles everywhere and clearly limited in the number of vehicles it can take. Taking the reins in 2011 as Managing Director, Lara has seamlessly woven her personal vision in strengthening the company’s philosophy and has been the driving force behind the development of the company. Her work seeks to offer a new perspective on beauty, focusing on the pioneering personalities, product designs, and transformative trends within the industry. From there, Petersham Nurseries went from strength to strength, now encompassing a picturesque teahouse and café at the original site, plus its beloved Italian eatery, La Goccia, and slow-food inspired restaurant, The Petersham, both in Covent Garden. Petersham Cellar is a wine merchant that promotes an ever-evolving hand selected and carefully sourced selection of fine and rare wines from the most incredible regions of the world. My husband is due an operation and a comfortable chair with arms was put in place for him with extra cushions for the seat and back.

The book has been dubbed ‘marvellous… packed with visual stimulation and inspiration’ by arbiter of taste, the designer Jasper Conran. Richmond overall is a nice place to visit over summer, and I often meet friends at Petersham Nurseries. Sitting in the glasshouse surrounded by trees and other greenery has to be experienced as no words can fully express the delightful and completely different type of dining to other restaurants . Now, as the Boglione family sets out on a new venture with the opening of Petersham Nurseries Covent Garden, they reflect on their story so far, and share some of their inspirations and favourite recipes in this delightful book. She then moved to work at the Dodin-Bouffant restaurant before going to work at The French House, in Soho, London.
