If you enjoy books with fae, mystery, slow burn, romance with mild spice, then I could not recommend this sequel more! Octachloro-9,9’-bifluorenylidene and perchloro-9,9’-bifluorenylidene, two exceedingly twisted ethylenes. But when she suddenly finds herself caught in a web of lies of her own making ­- loving two princes and trusting neither - things are not quite as clear as she once thought. But when I was a young girl, Father always blamed me or Mother when something went wrong, and so did my brothers even when they had messed up, and I believed them. Lastly, this is not a criticism per se, but I wish These Hollow Vows could have been a trilogy instead of a duology.

One of the things that captivated my attention the most - if you don’t count all the interaction between the characters -, was the in dept history and legends of the fae realm that we haven’t had the opportunity to read about until now. The book starts off with a bam but then experiences a lull as the action tapers off during Brie’s time at Castle Craige.We learn that there’s something wrong with The Shadow Court and that Brie, Finn and the Unseelie must journey to save it.

What a truly fantastic conclusion to this dualogy, I was completely invested with the characters and their journeys through out!

It’s Lexi Ryan’s fault for giving us such loveable characters – you can’t help but feel short-changed when they’re not given the page time or development they deserve. At times the beginning felt slightly info dumpy, but on reflection I think it was necessary with the amount of lore added with this sequel. But even though it had some misses, and could be better, then I still enjoyed the book very much and therefor my rating.
