About this deal

This character’s POV continues in book two, and I was entranced and horrified by their downward evil spiral. Her character’s struggle with these questions is woven quietly through all these pages and I can’t wait to see who she comes out as by the end. Villain Romance: I won’t even try to deny that this is the reason I fell into this series’ thrall, bc their chemistry and the depth of their interactions is decadent. But in Blade Breaker, these attempts at witticism feel super cringeworthy to me because it’s clear that the novel wants so badly to be funny and just cannot manage it.

Friendship, But More: The Companions have become one of my fave groups of MCs, and I think the main reason is that we saw their natural bonding, going from strangers filled with suspicion while mutual trust creeps up on them as they survive and plot together in book one, to something more than friends, sharing an easy camaraderie with a deep understanding and even appreciation of their quirks. And Corayne, a pirate's daughter with an ancient magic in her blood, steps closer to becoming the hero she's destined to be. This book is very large, which is exactly the type of fantasy I needed at the time, and it did allow for the plot to move a little slower so that there was an emphasis on the characters.

There are no Artifact Knowledge or reputation requirements to obtain this hidden appearance, and it can be obtained as early as level 100 (presumably, 98 is the minimum level required, my warrior was 100 with no rep or Artifact Knowledge). New characters are introduced (most of them queer, we LOVE to see it), new lands are travelled through, and new friends as well as enemies are made. The clip is now bigger to be utilized with thicker belts or to hang on pouches, but the most innovative change is the removeable magnet plate in the lower container area. Outnumbered and outgunned, Corayne makes an alliance with the small kingdom of Trec, in exchange for a war-band that will fight for them against Erida and Taristan. stars rounded uppp; well, smack my ass and play it like a drum because this was actually d-e-l-i-g-h-t-f-u-l.

BB still has YA elements, and I wish Aveyard had abandoned the genre, but I feel the need to note the more mature tone of this series bred by the depth and complexity of its themes and characters, which leads it away from what one would expect from a “YA Fantasy Adventure. You get to read the POV of both groups, which is interesting as you see the motives and relationships of each. If you’re ready to continue with Corayne and her rag-tag group, then you will be happy to know book two picks up right after the events in the Ibal desert. Not like mine, which I must keep hidden, so men might feel a little less threatened and a little more strong.which obviously might please several readers, but its way too much court politicking and war planning for my liking. And Corayne , a pirate's daughter with an ancient magic in her blood, steps closer to becoming the hero she's destined to be. On the contrary I found the first book confusing and long winded, and because of that I didn't start reading blade breaker for nearly two years after I finished realm breaker.
