I’m no technophobe but it’s impossible to get subtitles on an LG TV even though the subtitle logo is displayed. There is still a bug, 15 months and counting, to my knowledge, where the setting on the Stick for subtitles wherever possible won’t stay On. If you want to be fully immersed, one can argue subtitles are just as bad as Googling a character name during a show or movie. It is astonishing that they wouldn't do everything in their power to try and meet this minimum expectation with a show of this magnitude.

With a fantasy show like this I like to read the subs because it's quicker to pick up the character names and follow the storyline better. With a recent survey revealing that people are increasingly using them, I took a look at the case for — and against —turning on subtitles. It seems to get confused and record or download those and then not download the next episode in UHD, but I did manage to find the rest of the UHD ones . I doubt it though, their lack of compassion for the deaf and hard of hearing community is shameful, to say the least. I have tried holding down English subtitles button as suggested, and gone back to repeat, no such luck!And subtitles for content in another language are vastly superior to dubbing, the process of adding a vocal performance over the existing audio (but that's an entirely different argument). While watching HBO's "House of the Dragon" recently, I found myself doing something I had vehemently avoided in the past: turning the subtitles on. And so for each programme, you need to Pause it, move to the little speech bubble icon if it is there, and turn the subtitles On. Subtitles can also get ahead of the audio, so you'll be reading the dialogue before it's said (this is especially annoying when watching a stand-up comedy special and the punch line is ruined). Your shows advertised with “S” symbol for subtitles but no subtitles are showing for shows such as, special victims unit, Criminal minds. House of the Dragon" and "The Rings of Power" are some of the best-looking shows on TV, and the subtitles can distract from the beautiful imagery.

So we live in France and as such have French OCS to watch house of the dragon which means all the subtitles for the bits in Targaryen language come up in French. At the end of the day, it really just comes down to preference, but as I said, I generally don't use subtitles for the reason above — unless it's a big-budget TV series based on popular IP, apparently. Netflix's "Stranger Things" took its subtitles to the next level with season four, with descriptions like "tentacles squelching wetly" that sparked social-media conversation.We had now tv about two years ago and could not get subtitles, so we gave up and cancelled our subscription telling now tv why, it seems they do not listen to their feedback as, we thought we would try again and so we subscribed again a couple of weeks ago and lo and behold STILL NO SUBTITLES! So to get subtitles, it is necessary to press the ‘*’ button on the remote, arrow right to the Subtitles option (furthest right) and select English there (if subtitles are available for the programme, which is not always the case ). Does anyone know where I can find just these sections online of just the subtitles so I can read along on my phone while watching on the telly? If you then do follow-on watching of further episodes, the subtitles will continue to show; but once you leave the programme for another, or exit, you will have to repeat the subtitle setting on the next thing you want to watch. Subtitles can also be helpful if your TV doesn't have the best sound quality (although there are ways to adjust that).
