About this deal

With The Buried Dagger and several shorts being dedicated to Mortarion’s life on Barbarus The Pale King inevitably falls into the latter camp. They encounter heavy fire, but Mortarion prepared asteroids with engines on them to screen them from the planet-to-space fire and uses old ships as fireships to distract their fleet. They need to disable it in one day because millions of reinforcements are arriving from all the world in a day to save the center. As of now, it's my favourite Primarchs novel, can't wait to read more of Annandale's Black Library books.

Mortarion is a bit stunned here and other two primarchs leaves seemingly really hoping Mortarion changes his ways. This isn’t really a bad book, it’s just so boringly inconsequential that you’re really going to get nothing from it. An exploration intended to give readers not only a better understanding of the men themselves but also the legions they command. The way this story was told was great and the clashing views on how to deal with those inhumane tyrannical regimes the Imperium ran across was amazing! David Annandale is the author of the Warhammer Horror novel The House of Night and Chain and the novella The Faith and the Flesh, which features in the portmanteau The Wicked and the Damned.

The hives have gangs and mass food riots, cultists and genestealers because of the bloated nature of the imperium as a whole and the hive cities in particular. No doubt this wasn't helped by Keeble given him a somewhat posh British accent more reminiscent of a villain like Ramsay Bolton than a Demi-God like Mortarion.Conocer más a fondo al personaje fue un punto a favor del libro, porque te muestra muy bien sus motivaciones y su forma de actuar antes de la herejía. Why does a primarch so vehemently opposed to oppressors side with a chaos god who is not only brutal in his efficiency (you might say he’s … contagious? As for things I liked, Mortarion's point of view was actually interesting once you manage to get past his LARP-ing as "death incarnate. This book really seemed to be leaning away from his strengths as an author and more towards what I perceived as his weaknesses.

David lectures at a Canadian university, on subjects ranging from English literature to horror films and video games. The eventual fight between Mortarion and the reinforcements from the other cities on Galaspar is significantly better written, and it proves that Mr. A large section of the book could easily have been labelled as merely "Bolter-Porn" but through leveraging Mortarion's character arc, several interesting side characters and the evolving character of the nascent Death Guard, none of the constant butchery seems gratuitous at all.The standout was a newly introduced character named Digger but there's a few familiar faces that make an appearance.

Readers will almost certainly have come across Morty at some point in the past, but possibly not as we see him here in his pre-Heresy days as a newly-enlegioned Primarch looking to make his mark on the galaxy and impress his father and brothers. Non-chronological telling of a brutal compliance (and Morty being knocked by Sanguinius and Horus for said brutality, which may or may not have been justified).

Seeking to understand its horrors, two noble primarchs have come to Galaspar, summoning their brother to account for his actions. You don't need to have read other Mortarion stories like The Buried Dagger, Lantern's Light or Verdict of the Scythe whatsoever to understand this book but whether you're a diehard Death Guard fan or a complete beginner to the Legion, there's plenty to enjoy here. Or maybe this series wasn’t a great idea to begin with, especially given how long in the tooth the Horus Heresy has become.
