About this deal

Below, I share my experience with Lezyne Super Pro GPS. I’ve been using it for a few weeks. Display

Oooh, I'm veering towards the negative again. Having used the near-identical Super GPS on every ride for perhaps a year, I'm niggled that few – if any – of its existing niggles have gone. Bar the new landscape display option, a smoother case and better waterproofing for the micro USB port (which was clumsy but never a problem unless you dropped it in a deep puddle), little has really changed. Routing

Conclusion

But the latest software update to Lezyne’s phone app adds Komoot integration, which lets you select the Komoot Tours menu option on your phone to get a listing of your mapped routes and select one to follow, which is then pushed to the GPS unit. Komoot provides a more intuitive route builder and a menu of other people’s rides to tap into. A mid-sized unit, the Super Pro has a 40mm by 33mm monochrome screen. That screen size is quite a bit smaller than the unit itself though, which measures 71mm by 48mm, is 26mm deep and weighs 60g. It sits quite high on the bike’s bars or stem, particularly since the standard mount is tall. Hopefully this clears some things up. We’d be happy to continue answering questions here for a bit if there are any more. Note: Whenever you perform a firmware update by connecting the device in bootloader mode, you will need to do a second update afterwards. Failure to do so may cause problems with future updates. It took me about 5-10 minutes to set everything up. So, the process was not as smooth as with Wahoo bike computers.

Lezyne's Super Pro GPS is stuffed with functions and connects easily to other sensors/apps, plus it's light, securely mounted and stays charged for potentially weeks. The navigation is poor, though, and it's not a huge step on from the older Super Navigate GPS. When you try to plug in the device and the computer doesn't recognize it, you may need to plug it in in bootloader mode. This mode is under different button combinations for the Mini / Micro devices and Super / Macro devices. The device contains a GPS/GLONASS chipset, integrated barometer, and accelerometer for superior data recording and elevation readings. It also offers up to 28 hours of battery runtime and is easily recharged via a highly water-resistant micro-USB port.Unfortunately, the route creator won’t allow you to search for locations, so you must tap on a specific place on a map to choose it as the waypoint. The computer also now sync's with the Komoot and Relive apps for users interested in the features those provide. The Komoot app can aid in route planning for touring and road riding. The device’s firmware has been updated to show more data fields and it can now pair with our “Smart Connect” LED system. And its charging USB port has been upgraded to be much more water resistant. The disadvantage of a touchscreen on the other hand is that, especially in the rain, the device can become difficult to operate. (The same if you are waring gloves). And the screen is just that bit more vulnerable. That shows another clear advantage of the Super Pro GPS, that it is very weatherproof and durable. You can fix the Device to your bars with the help of simple rubber bands. It takes a little bit of fiddling to get those rubber straps hooked in properly, but then the GPS is also really and surprisingly well secured and will weather anything.

Lezyne has its own mounting system. It’s a bit more robust than Garmin’s, as you need to push down and turn the unit a quarter turn to engage it, so the computer is less likely to slip out. The mount sits a bit higher on the bike than Garmin’s too, although it’s attached with a similar system using two rubber bands. Once that measurement is sorted, cycling computers can work out your distance, average and maximum speed, and your ride time. You may not need all that data, or you may need far more if you’re training for a race or competition. After the device is turned on again, you have a number of different options. If it happens more than once, you can choose to remove the firmware and then reinstall it. You can also look forward to compatibility with Strava and other 3rd party apps, including auto-sync. Looking at the GPS traces on Strava, there’s a bit of drift from the line of the road, particularly on wooded routes, but it’s no worse than with many other GPS units. Lezyne makes a full line of cycling computers and accessories. The Super GPS Enhanced is offered as a stand-alone unit (as tested) as well as with the following options: Tell us what the product is for and who it's aimed at. What do the manufacturers say about it? How does that compare to your own feelings about it?
